Shocking piece in the Express, so so poor. Marca standard

TOTTENHAM star Gareth Bale has given the clearest indication yet that he will be leaving the club this summer - by driving his car into training with a tax disc due to expire at the end of the month! :ROFLMAO:

Tax disc, seriously? Well done for having the balls to put your name to that piece of "journalism", James Dickenson. Seriously, well done!

Absolutely disagree with people saying he won't succeed. Lets not start kidding ourselves now, Bale is a truly remarkable player who is close to unique in the way he can devastate teams almost single-handedly. He had to do that last year because of a disastrous transfer window. He'll be brilliant for Madrid, absolutely no doubt whatsoever.
He only did it in the second half of the season. Ronaldo does it ALLLLLLL the time and has done for years.

The pressure on him will be unreal and if he doesn't get off to a flying start then they will maul him (..and we'll giggle...just a little).

Well he won't 'absolutely' succeed. Let's not get it twisted, we as a club and AVB deserve a lot of credit for his rise in reputation; giving him the platform to roam where the fuck he pleased and shoot from where the fuck he wanted. We all seem to forget the times he's countlessly tried to knock it past 4-5 defenders to no avail or shot again and again when he had better options on.
You think Ronaldo et al. are going to just shrug it off if he does that? Like fuck they are.

Also in football, a balanced tactic is imperative, Carlo isn't going to let Ronaldo AND Bale roam about wherever they please.

I maintain Bale will get his fair share of goals if he goes and assists, but he will not have a similar season as he did last year for us.

Said a few pages back that we are going to end up being bitten in the arse on this deal.
Levy will have given in to a lower bid from Real, albeit still a World Record fee.
Secondly, he won't settle in that environment, so will be back in the PL by start of 2015/16 season at the latest.
Thirdly, we can't afford to buy him back when that happens.
If it's next summer it will be for United as Giggs will have retired that that 11 shirt he wants will be available.

It's the same method that Falcao is using to get his ultimate move to Real - do it via another club for a season or two!

Why would he go o United, by then we will be a superior team to them, higher finisher, better manager etc. and he will want to come back to the lane.

I would like to think though that by then, we would be in a position to say "Sorry Gareth there is no room at the Inn my Pedigree Chum, our first team is chocka with talent, we may be able to squeeze you on the bench"

AVB didn't mean he doesn't talk to him, he means doesn't talk to the press. I think JJ's bad news is that he is staying which is bad news for JJ as it means he got it wrong. Also has bale actually said he wants to go? I mean actual quotes or anything?
He said bale wasnt talking to him or his team mates.

Also im getting tired of these shots of him out of his car window. The frustrated appearance he is trying to assume reminds me of childhood trips to howletts...

I'm actually at the point where I don't really care if he succeeds or not, but I do tend to agree with the posters that think he may struggle. He's got a big shock coming if he thinks he's going to be the main man at Madrid. He has a lot to prove, and expectations will be sky high. He has only really performed for a relatively small amount of time give how long he has been at the club.

In any case, my primary concern is that Levy needs to get this resolved quickly, and make sure we get the right players in ASAP.

Bale gives club 'silent treatment'

Posted: 16 August 2013Time: 12:57 pmTottenham coach Andre Villas-Boas admits that Gareth Bale has given the club and teammates the ‘silent treatment’ as he tries to force through a move to Real Madrid.Bale wants a move to the Spanish Giants and won't sign a new Spurs deal but the refusal of Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy to sanction a world-record move is upsetting the star player. The coach told media that Bale would miss the first three weeks of the season because of injury but confirmed that he had no idea how the player was feeling as he was not speaking to anyone."Nobody knows Gareth's state of mind because he doesn't speak. The only thing we see is the player arriving in and out of the training ground.

The disadvantage to us will be if he doesn't live up to it, he'll have burnt his bridge with us, and will return to either Manure or Chelscum.

I think he has gone already IMO. The wait is for us to do the deals for replacements and not be ripped off. Once the players come in, he will go. I just hope either way all deals are done quickly and on good terms. Would love to see him return one day.

Replacing Bale with Chadli, Soldado, Paulinho and Capoue has already surpassed my expectations at the beginning of the window.

They aren't Bale replacements.

Soldado was a striker we have needed for years.
Chadli was the 3rd winger we have needed for years.
Paulinho and Capoue are in for formation change/hudd/parker/livermore replacements.

Brilliant player. Was brilliant for spurs, Will be brilliant for Madrid. Don't know if any player is worth the fee he'll go for, but if anyone is, he is. Good luck to him. I wish him all the best
If he stays even better

Levy hasn't exactly pocketed loads. If £50m of the £100m was spent on the stadium I'd be more than happy with that. Lamela and Coentrao in.
Are you are adding Players to my scenario, I would be happy with those two as well.

Gareth Bale ruled out for two weeks, says Andre Villas-Boas

Gareth Bale has been ruled out of action for two weeks, Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has said.
Forward Bale, 24, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, will miss Sunday's Premier League game against Crystal Palace with a foot injury.

Spurs play Dinamo Tbilisi in the Europa League on Thursday and Swansea in the league three days later.
"For Palace, for Tbilisi, for Swansea, he will not be in line to threaten to come back," said Villas-Boas.

Should Bale return in two weeks' time, he will be available for Spurs' away game against Arsenal at the Emirates on 1 September, one day before the transfer window shuts.

There has been speculation that Real Madrid could complete a world-record transfer of more than £80m for the Welshman, who has scored 42 goals for Tottenham.

Real's manager Carlo Ancelotti said the clubs were in talks, which angered Villas-Boas, but no deal has been agreed and Bale is yet to publically announce his intentions.

He played the first half of Tottenham's pre-season friendly against Swindon on 16 July but not played since.
Bale linked up with his Wales team-mates but did not feature in their 0-0 draw with Republic of Ireland on Wednesday.
