I'm not convinced Bale will be half the player without his pace. Those injuries are taking its toll and for me not worth the risk over £30m
He can be a very good PL player even when he loses a few yards. Still a wand of a left foot. Just shifting and shooting around the box, and a beast in the air. Also he's always been underrated in terms of vision and passing.

This is what I’ll tell myself when he signs for Utd in the summer, but I’d fucking love it if we managed to bring him back here. Dream transfer for me.

Without his pace I think he would resemble Gylfi Sigurðsson :(.

From what I'm seeing most United supporters are not for signing him. Seems a combination of his fitness and the fact he has turned them down twice already in his career.

I hope you're right, but I can't imagine Brand Utd would pass up the opportunity to buy the most marketable, famous, and arguably best British footballer if they had the chance.

Bale has to be realistic about his own wage demands.

If he wants a continued playing career, no-one, unless they are mental and have money to burn, would sign a player for anywhere near his current salary. Given his c0ntinued injury problems. They arent going away.

It depends what he wants and what a manager wants from a first team player. Bale might have to accept that he will be a 'pop up player' who is only capable of say, 1 in 3 games to keep the injuries at bay. I suppose it depends on expert medical advise but anyone can see his injury record is abysmal.

If he does leave Real Madrid without submitting a transfer request and takes a pay cut to do so, I believe Real Madrid will be required to make up the difference in wages for the remainder of his current contract.

In any case I think he is past his best now and I would prefer to us to sign Zaha or Barkley etc players with room to grow and something to prove.

I'm not a huge fan of paying big money for a player later in their career, I think the downside risk is too great, he has a terrible injury record now.

I would rather sign Modric from Madrid, would be cheaper and very low risk.

Marco Asensio or Isco or others I would like.

Why would Madrid have to supplement his earnings? Only way that would happen is if Bale said that was the only way he would leave.

He was all of those things, not sure he still is tbh.

You could make a strong argument that Kane is a better player now, but when it comes to fame and marketability, Bale is in a league of his own in comparison to other British players.

Bale is still only twenty-eight , and was playing very well for Real Madrid when not injured in the last two seasons, probably outperforming his first two seasons there.

I have no doubt if Bale comes back and gets fit he will be a success. He is actually a good age and am sure will still have pace to burn. Injuries are a legitimate concern but Bale came back from similar problems at the start of his career and a whole host of others have got over injury problems to then continue as top places, such as Shearer, Martin Laursen, Van Persie, stephen Carr the list goes on.

I think he is worth the risk, he will always have that ability to make something out of nothing. We could of done with that the last few weeks.

I just searched for Gareth Bale, I wasn't sure of his age so wanted to check, and the top listing was "Shop Gareth Bale merchandise, 100% Official product" so it would appear that he does have quite a marketability level, if he did come here I imagine he'd cut a marketing deal with the club to keep the income from that.
I'm not going to laose any sleep over this story but if it did come off it will need some constructive accounting, we won't get him on a straight wage deal.

And Bale...
If we could get Sess, a young attacker such as Kluivert and a serious would class star such as Bale I thing we would almost have the perfect team. Maybe sell Sissoko and GNK . I still think we need another quality CM but even so, I think we would be able to contend. But if we got Bale it would mean no Pulisic which would be a shame. Saying all that, I don’t think we will manage Bale.
