In my head there's so many problems with this but then I can also just imagine him walking out for the first game at NWHL to 62,000 white flags waving and duel of the fates in the background.....

Glorious, I'm getting goosebumps thinking about it

He'd get injured in pre-season... :D

We might be able to afford one of Bale’s arms with the money we’ll get for those 3!

I mean for squad space not transfer fee

Would imagine real would probably take 60 million, a touch more than abuameyang
Though who knows what they still owe us

If he can it's more than Stoke can.

I would love to see him come back, it isn't as outragous as some people seem to think but I'd hesitate to put my mortgage money on it. The situation isn't run of the mill, moving to Real Madrid was Gareth Bale's dream so he's lived the dream and the glory which means the next move isn't going to impress him like it might some players, because of this it will either just be for money or it will be his personal preference, I'm not sure City want him, I don't see him preferring Liverpool and he won't go to Arsenal or Chelsea so in my opinion he is left with Unted or us.
When he went I remember Joel Barnett being very complimentary about Daniel Levy saying that he had kept his word so I personally believe there is a good relationship there and that counts for something, United no doubt beat us hands down if it comes down to money but I'm not sure they have any other advantages.

even if we could afford the fee we cant afford his wages and Levy would never pay that kind of money for a 28 year old with injury problems.

Is there still value in this deal for us? He'd cost a lot and would automatically be a top earner at the club a big outlay.

The biggest challenge to this level of spend is his fitness IMHO - a fit Bale, playing for a club he loves, under Poch, could be a truly amazing thing.

If it came together as noted above, even for a big spend i could see the benefits here. But we need a lot to go right for this to be worthwhile.

The betting thing is rather curious, I will say that. Would seem rather odd to put a two thousand pound flutter on a 12-1 bet, unless you were slightly confident. Or you are being foolhardy. Or u r his agents playing silly buggers. But what's more odd is that apparently it's been several large bets. Which raises an eyebrow.

They don't.
That leaked contract showed that at worst it was just over £20m per year for 4 years which has long passed.

So someone stuck £2k on him coming to spurs and it's been turned into a news article about him coming to Spurs?
