Welcome to take with a pinch of salt but only passing on in good faith. A friend of a friend spent time with Bale recently. It seems he is very unhappy in Madrid and with all the politics including those surrounding Ronaldo has fallen out of love with football. He wants to come home and only wants to come back to Spurs. Knows he will have to take a massive pay cut and is prepared to do so to start enjoying life again. Sounded like it would be more likely in the Summer than January. As said passed on in good faith.

(sorry did not see the other thread) as I posted before Dov

I can see this happening as he has made massive money since being at Madrid and would still earn very good money at Spurs. If he is free from injury this is a no brainer

Is this the huge clue Gareth Bale has snubbed Man Utd to sign for Tottenham?

Irish bookmaker Paddy Power took several big bets - running into thousands of pounds - on Gareth Bale joining Tottenham at the weekend.

A price of 12/1 was being offered but that has now been slashed into 5/2 following the market surge.

A Paddy Power insider revealed to Express Sport that the pattern and timing has put the company on ‘red alert’ that something is afoot.

A spokesman said: “It’s been Manchester United all the way for Bale but this has really caught us by surprise.

“The transfer betting is popular with low stakes customers but this level of betting has blown the market out the water.

“You don’t put upwards of £2,000 on a transfer going through unless you know something.

“We’ve had no choice but to slash the price and we are now keeping close watch on the market.”

Bale's agent has insisted he is happy at Real Madrid despite intense speculation linking him with a move away.

Jonathan Barnett told Italian outlet Tuttosport: “Bale? I think he’s worth as much as Neymar. He loves Real Madrid and doesn’t want to leave.

“Gareth does not need Ronaldo to leave Real Madrid, he is already a top star of the club.”

Bale left Tottenham to join Real Madrid for a then world record fee of £85.3million in 2013.

Manchseter United have since emerged as the club most likely to bring him back to the Premier League with Jose Mourinho admitting he wanted to sign the Welshman last summer.

He said ahead of the Super Cup: “If he is not in the club’s plans, that with the arrival of another player would mean he was on his way out, I will try to be waiting for him on the other side and fight with other coaches that would want him.

“But if he plays tomorrow, that is the best confirmation he is wanted by the team.”

I know a lot of our fans don't want to go back there and I can understand that but personally, I would take him.

Still one of the world's best players on his day. The concern of course is injuries and whether we feel confident he can stay fit consistently.

Highly doubt it will happen but mainly cos I think he'll stay in Madrid and not because he wouldn't want to come here like some of our fan base will no doubt say.

Forgetting the fact it’s bale. Tbh he’s exactly what we need. Could be back up striker and AM. Also with quality of squad we could give him good rest between games.

I did hear in the summer that this was something likely to happen but didn't believe it then and am just as doubtful now. In fact I would say right now he was needed more by Real than he was then.

Can you imagine though the hype if he did sign and walking out in the new stadium? Would be a massive statement from the club and the media would lap it up, Bale playing off Kane... I can dream.

I very much think this. Real might go through a transition period this summer but it's not going to be a firesale. They make a posturing point of only selling when they want to always appear in control.

Selling Bale would give them funds to sign other players though (Salah or Hazard for example). I'm hoping they will steal DdG from Utd this summer because he has saved a lot of points for them.

In my head there's so many problems with this but then I can also just imagine him walking out for the first game at NWHL to 62,000 white flags waving and duel of the fates in the background.....

Glorious, I'm getting goosebumps thinking about it

Seems very unlikely but there is a lot of smoke round this one.

Half of me says no as he is injury prone and we have moved on but the other half remembers how much fun it was watching bale and thinks hell yeah

Truly would be the Spurnabeu

We might be able to afford one of Bale’s arms with the money we’ll get for those 3!
