Perhaps a straight transfer for Bale is out of the question, especially considering his current weekly wage, but what about a season long loan deal?

If the Madrid manager (whoever that may be) tells him that he's not in his plans for next season, then he might consider this option.

Basically, plays every week, plays in the Champions League, involved in a PL title challenge, at a club where he is adored by the fans, and all the while still getting paid his crazy weekly wage. And at the end of it, he can weigh-up his options having been in the 'shop-window' for a whole season, instead of on the bench.

All depends on other clubs coming in for Bale, but not a crazy scenario to imagine...

We need him not to start in the CL final

We’re not signing him anyway, so a nice winning goal against the scousers would do me fine.

Even if we could afford his fee and he wanted to come, his wages are mental.

Of course if there is any slight chance of a miracle happening we should be all over it. He’s 29, not 35 and would instantly improve the first team.

I have heard that if Madrid receive a bid from another 'premier league' club we have 72 hours to react
Garett bale, the boys coming home!
pretty common knowledge to be fair mate, doesnt mean anything really
especially if Bale is offered shed loads more elsewhere, just because we can match a bid it makes no difference if Bale doesnt want to come

I’ve got a strange feeling that we might see Bale wearing a Spurs shirt and running out of the tunnel with Kane for the first game in our new stadium.
I also predict that he’ll have a new haircut!!!

I would absolutely love it! But I just don't see it.

Teams with more money than us for wages/fees:

City
United
Chelsea
Arsenal
Liverpool
Bayern
Juventus
PSG
Barcelona
... And the rest

I just can't see a world where Gareth becomes available and not a single team listed there wants him.

It must mean something as why bother including it?
I take it as bale wanted it in the contract, but I'm an optimist

i am sure it had nothing to do with Bale, makes no difference to him if its in the contract as he can still go where he wants
all it means is that we can match a fee and talk to him, doesnt mean he has to come back to us

That's not correct. The contract when we sold Bale had Bale as a party to the contract. If we match a bid by another PL club he has to come to us.

Why are you so negative? I believe he would come back
Why do you not, have you spoken with him?
No, me neither.
Anyone bids and we get a heads up. It's as simple as that. Also I'm sure it would of been agreed by all parties
It's cool I'm optimistic he will come back as I'm a glass half full type of guy.
You my friend are obviously a glass half empty guy, so may I remind you of our motto
AUDERE EST FACERE although dropped now to dare is to do
Just out of interest your not the guy I had a row with at wembley after our semi final defeat are you?

he really doesnt
it just means we have a chance to match the fee and speak to Bale
It doesnt mean he has to come back to us, so you are saying if Man u offer 60m, we then get told
We offer 60m and its gets accepted
we offer bale 150k per week, Man u offer 300k
Bale isnt legally obliged to come to us

Please don't call me mental, I have ptsd due to seeing my best friend turned into dog food in afghan.
All I have done is put in a forum what I've heard.
Your opinion was it was common knowledge, only you said this mind.
And for the record I categorically deny stating he has to come back so that my friend is a figment of your imagination.
You really do remind me off the obnoxious bloke leaving wembley though lol

I've been a member here over 13 years, but things like this is the exact reason I rarely post.
I don't do one up man ship. It doesn't interest me at all
My apologies for having an opinion and stating common knowledge

Firstly apologies for calling you mental, no offence and you are right to pick up on that

It has been in the press and common knowledge, if you google Spurs, Bale buy back options there are reports of this going back at least 2 years, so i think its fair to say it is common knowledge, from memory i think Spurs made this known at the time
Please can you let me know where i said you said he has to come back?
All i did was say that he didnt have to, i really cant see why you are so aggrieved when all i correctly pointed out was that the clause has been in the public domain for years (which it has ) and Bale doesnt have to come back if we agree a fee (which is also correct)
Nowhere did i say he wouldnt, i actually think we have a good chance
