I think 9/10s of Man U squad feel like that under Mourinho. Lukaku, Mata, Sanchez, Pogba to name a few. Basically any flair attacking footballers he destroys them.
And thats a very good reason if bale was to come back to england utd would not be his choice. Martial has always looked dodgy to me

Ok heres how i see this.
1. Bale does not look happy at rm.
2. It appears he has fell down the ranking
3. He has to play second fiddle to the ronaldo show.
4. He has to play outta position.
So if in fact his rm adventure is over then its surely back to england. The question is simple . Does gareth bale want money or success or to get his mojo back. Id guess all 3 but it comes down to priorities. There is only 3 clubs in that race . Us and the 2 manx clubs. Would city be in for him. They r the only threat to me. Utd r to negative and he would clearly see that move possibly going the same as rm by being ask to play outta position and defensively. Then there is spurs. Certainly a pay cut but with a bit of imagination i dont think it would have to be that big. Lets not forget poch is a top draw too. The support and love he'd get from us. He wouldnt get anywhere else. After his rm experience i think thats r strongest carrot. Then theres the new empire stadium. The best in the country. Then theres the team. A very attacking strong team of internationals possible on the brink of something big. Would he believe he is the missing link to bring that success. Of course he would...People to me its a no brainer. We r a perfect fit. Have faith and realize we r no longer a europa league team. We r a top club and on a whole we can offer bale more than all the other clubs .COYS

Love the way you justify that for him. Home he cometh.

Guys he is on £350k a week after tax. That means we'd have to pay him about £600k a week just for him to break even.

Again...no one else is going to pay him what he's making right now. So if he's leaving he's taking a pay-cut. It's not just to Spurs, it's anywhere else (unless he ends up at City for some reason). So get the "he won't take a pay-cut" out of the equation. He's taking a pay-cut, just a matter of how much.

I get what you're saying but he has frequently said that he'd rather come back to Spurs than anywhere else. That's from the horse's mouth. :)

Real madrid are paying him that. So why leave?

Nobody, and I literally mean nobody has stated that Bale is the only top level player that exists. Quite the opposite, in fact.

What people have said, and are absolutely right to do so, in my opinion, is that Bale is (realistically) the one massive name/brand/signing that we have not only a realistic chance of signing (if we really want to) , but also the one massive name/brand/signing that would actually want to move to THFC, rather than just look for the big bucks at City, United, Chavs etc etc.

And unlike the other top level players that exist, Bale already has not only an affiliation with the club & supporters, he has an affection for them. Do not underestimate how important that 'could' be if we do enter any race for his signature.

That still doesn’t sit as the right reason for us to target someone. So what if he’s big name signing? His stock is declining and he plays in our most heavily resourced position. I’m arguing that there are other big name signings out there that would add so much more to the squad despite perhaps not having the same prestige of GB11.

If we have the capacity to address all our issues AND sign Bale, then yeah fair play. My concern is that as the end of the window gets nearer, we’ll be scrabbling around trying to shoehorn in a 3rd – 4th choice CM/Kane backup after wasting time and money bringing in our 6th attacking midfielder (the other 5 are decent!).

I honestly think there must be a lot of fans on here who where to young to watch gareth bale at spurs and havnt borthered to watch what he has did at madrid. Guys utube will show it all. Gareth bale is on a different level. Yes he is 29 and yes he picks up injuries more but he wins games himself. As was said earlier in the thread ..we couldnt attract any other player on his level. We only have a crack at gareth because of our past and the position we and him are in at this time. And this is all just IF IF IF he is available.

Playing devils advocate but why not Chelsea?
Also I fail to see how we can offer Bale more than all the other clubs, unless you're not including wages and chances of winning honours.

I'd love to have him back, you're right about Poch, you're right about our team, but I'm not sure these are the things that really drive players nowadays, money and trophies do unfortunately.

Maybe there are things in life that mean more than money ?

Also Gareth bale practically shits gold bars it would take him a age to count what he has in the bank and other investments I doubt he has a breakdown when his estimated gas bill drops on the mat

I think that is wishful thinking.

For it to be wishful thinking I would have to be wishing it would happen and I'm more of a Ahh well it will or it won't kinda chap :)

I gave up a well paid job to work for myself it's harder (major understatement) and pays much less and I can't even pull a sickie :(
But I did it because I realised I don't like people I have to work for that much ( also major understatement)
So it does happen even for us poor people.

Ohh I forgot to add I didn't have a bazillion quid in the bank to fall back on either

If you're thinking of saying anything about his wage or how much he'll cost, at least a hundred people have said beat you to it. Unlucky.
