Personally I think if we really wanted him we could do a deal but the financial implications with regard the rest of the squad could be the deciding factor when deciding wether or not to pursue this. For a short bald man, Levy can be quite creative when he wants so although my personal feeling is that it won't happen I wouldn't totally rule it out. Football is a funny old game and it's nice to have the odd dream that doesn't involve waking up to find jizz everywhere.

you knew about the jizz before you went to bed, you closed the daily to save yourself a lot of work this morning:whistle:

Just opinion but I expect you are looking at 30mil difference between the two that's half a top quality CM
Definitely worth it. And whoever says otherwise is lying to themselves. Like Poch says, it is time that we have be brave. Bale would be a bold move but we need someone like him more than a top quality CM. Bale’s a winner. We dont have anyone like that. We dont have anyone who can change the game in an instant. The only thing this team is missing is a winner. He could be the difference between winning trophies and continuing to be alter boys

It's not that people don't want him back, it's how it affects our ability to strengthen other more pressing areas considering how much he'd cost.

I’m not getting this poverty angle for example next season we will receive probably an additional £50 million for being in the champions league and another £60 million in additional match day revenues. Also extra commercials are likely with the new kit deal and expected naming rights etc.. We could be talking an extra £120 million a season as a conservative estimate. Also Bale’s Madrid contract includes his image rights which would be substantial so I’m sure £250k per week is doable. Add to that we could recoup wages from N’Koudou Sissoko Janssen, Llorente which all honesty don’t need to be replaced. Even Autier could be sold and relaced with Walker Peters to save wages... That’s how we afford Bale

I'd rather just buy Bale and promote youth players to fill gaps in squad than buy youth prospects who by the time they progress and improve, half the current team have retired or been sold.

It's whether you want something that's good for business or good for the fans, because Bale would give us an almighty chance of winning the league.

I agree, I'd like us to be brave and go all out to buy him.

But I don't agree that we have no one who can change a game in an instant. I've lost count of the number of times Harry's scored a goal out of nowhere, and he's not the only one we've got who can do that.

But aside form that, yes, Bale's a winner and could have a fantastic effect on the club both on and off the pitch, and knowing something about his professionalism from his time with us, there's not really that much risk involved compared with many other top-class players.

Add to that, the age difference means that there is a much higher chance of recouping the initial outlay for Martial than Bale.

Winning the league would be 1000 times better for business then continuing the buying of youth prospects to build profit. Like Poch says, its time for the club to be brave.

Wanna recoup the outlay? Win the league. Martial is nowhere near the player Bale is and probably wont be in the future. Bale is a top 5 player in the world. He could very likely end up winning the league for us down the line. Be brave. Take the chance!

Bout the same for me. I haven’t bought a shirt either since that same summer, and never bought one with a name on the back. I would certainly buy one with his name if he returns to Spurs. Even with the hope here, I still can’t fathom the elation I would feel to see that man playing for Spurs again.

if Bale signs the letters B, A, L, E will cost more in club shops, the bald dwarf will have to find Bales wages somewhere

Can people stop taking the brave quotes from Poch and using them to fit a narrative he also said this -

“This is a special club – we always strive to be creative in the way we work both on and off the pitch and will continue to stick to our principles in order to achieve the success this club deserves.”

Some people are going off the deep end with some of this stuff even though there is enough reasonable doubt if you're level headed about it enough.

Bale would be as close a guarantee as anyone. We need to take the chance.

This is the problem now. This is being built up in to such a big thing that if we don't sign Bale this summer, if we sign any attacking mid apart from Bale you and others are going to lose their shit.

I don't think a return is unrealistic.

I think the ball in our court with this one, and it just depends what stance the club decide to take.

I'd love him back. I really would. To hear his name ringing around NWHL would be truly special.

But what is it they say?
"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"?

Not sure our modus operandi would be completely overhauled to make this happen.

I'm sure we're being kept abreast of the situation, though.

If they do, it's on them.

It's nice to dream every now and again though, I mean GB with HK on the pitch and under Pochettino in the new stadium, I mean if you can't excited about the thought of that, then something is jaded.

I think most people know that the chances of it happening are remote, even minuscule but with his comments last night, there is fuel to the fire, that maybe, just maybe it could possibly happen

Wonder what the buy-back amount is, if we do indeed have one. It would have to be more than what we got for him otherwise why would RM allow a buy-back for someone, who at the time looked like he was gonna be a future Balon D'or winner.

We could just be waiting for someone else to have an offer accepted that is below the buy-back amount, to save a few quid.

Hit the nail on the head. There's a good chance we'll sign a very good (young) attacking player but because they're not Bale people won't be happy.
