The post by Hartyid doesn't necessarily say that we won't be trying to bring Bale back to the club. Just that we won't pay £100.000.000 for him. But what if we end up with a VDV type situation toward the close of the window. Does that mean Levy wouldn't go for it?

I doubt Madrid will offer him to Levy for £8m

I think everyone is getting excited because Valencia just suggested there is a chance.

Ah ok. Hadn't seen that. The thing with ITK is that it comes from all different places. There are 4 parties that have to be satisfied before any deal can happen,, and info passed on could come from any one of those four, and it only takes one of them make it a no go. I'm told from one corner of this, that it is not going to happen.

Of course things do change over the course of a transfer window, but the line I'm hearing on this one sounds pretty definitive.

If it is Bale or someone else - I’m sure a businessman such as Levy will make at least one marquee signing going into the new stadium. The marketing value, the NFL, keeping Poch and Kane pleased - he will pull something off!

Hahah just had a thought, what if one of the test events at the new stadium will be the unveiling of Bale.

Kit launch 16th July. Bales Birthday 16th July. Coincidence I think not. He’s coming home. :sneaky:
AlasdairGold who reported this said he was told originally the week of July 16th but was also told it could be delayed another week. Not sure why everyone got married to that specific day when that is not what he said.

I guess realistically, if Bale leaves Real, where could he go, that would pay him something close to his current salary? PSG? (doubtful, 'cos of Neymar, Mbappe, FFP, etc). Bayern? (just can't see him wanting to play in that league). Man City? (just can't see him being open to moving there, even if it meant he could keep earning what he does). Man UTD (seems as though they are most likely to pull it off. can pay what he wants, what Real wants, and Bale is probably amenable to going there). Who else is there? I just can't think of anyone else who has that sort of financial backing to pull it off.

As much as I'd love him back at Spurs, I think at this point in time, he's probably more likely to stay at Real for this season.

I assume the reason for the kit launch being scheduled for July 16th, is that the World Cup final takes place on July 15th, and we don’t want to launch during the World Cup.

Sorry to kill the party.
