ali z on bale still loving spurs: Have heard this from a friend of Bales agent many times, of course it don't mean it will happen, believe the new RM has scuppered any opportunity.
I think this adds up to those 1%-10% chances. I assume everyone close to Madrid knew of Ronaldo's situation and that there was a very good chance he was leaving and that this would give Bale the opportunity to takeover from the mantle. It also would highlight his confidence to come out and say that he wanted assurances of his situation at Madrid straight after the game, probably felt that now was a really good time to seek them. In turn if Ronaldo was to stay that may have helped Bale out of the door.

To be fair if this new Madrid team have a season without Ronaldo there is a chance they could underachieve. Not saying they will but Bale could then revaluate his options in Jan or Perez.

I'm assuming he ment the new Real Manager, but that's just a guess.

Or 'New RM' as in a new era at Real Madrid 'post-Ronaldo'. Bale should then get his shot as a leader of the team. However it does seem like Madrid will push for Neymar or Mbappe after the World Cup, probably keeping Bale out of top dog status anyway!

I always thought Lopetegui would not be fussed about losing Bale however (especially compared to Isco or Asensio) but it is common knowledge Perez is a huge Bale fan so maybe him staying has been forced on him.

Madrid can be ruthless however, and if they deem Bale is the easiest way of raising necessary funds for one of the PSG lads later in the window I can see them pushing him out still.

I just can't see Madrid making Bale the main man. They're always after the shiny new toys, meaning Neymar and whoever else they can throw huge money at.

I honesty think that you need a massive ego at that club, and Bale is by all accounts a grounded sort of lad. He's ambitious, yes, but he doesn't suffer from the absurd egomania regularly displayed by Ronaldo and his ego-heir Neymar. Ego.

Ronaldo to Juventus surely means the last little flicker of hope for a Bale return is put out.

Presumably if and when Ronaldo goes to Juventus Madrid will want to replace him with 1, maybe 2 big new signings therefore I don't rule out them selling Bale. However I still think this will be too rich for us.

It was never going to happen, and at least if he stays we won’t have to stomach him playing for another PL team.

I think it doesn't depend on Ronaldo. It depends on Neymar. The Madrid fans will expect a massive name to replace Ronaldo. They won't be satisfied with being told Bale will fill the gap, especially with his injury record. It's making the idea of Neymar look more credible. If Neymar or someone similar comes in and Bale once again feels second fiddle then who knows? If he leaves though I'm still not convinced he's coming back to us.
