That 30 year old probably has a good 2-3 years left at the top of his game. I cannot believe there is a debate about wanting one of the best player to ever put on our shirt, who is a top 3 player in the game, back in our shirt.

That 100% could be true, no doubt. He’s an incredible player. I’m just saying it’s not a cut and dried situation to spend 50-60m plus at least 250k/week in wages to a 30 year old with a pretty checkered injury history going into his 14th season. Especially considering the opportunity cost of not being able to spend it on future younger players of quality like we’ve done this summer with NDombele and maybe Lo Celso.

It’s a big risk/reward situation, that’s all I’m saying.

I think there is a great cost with this.Where does he play?
We have 6 players covering this area and the cost.
Also he does get injured quite a bit and how long will he have the pace that was his greatest asset?
Look everything helps..

Poch & Levy are smart enough to know that despite relying on youth we need a sprinkling of experience. Our elder statesmen are still relatively in their prime for their positions & have played at the highest levels at both club & nationally. But they have not won anything at club level. Yes, we have Hugo as a World Cup winning captain. That is huge. But Bale's club resume is unmatched. His impact goes far beyond just his ability & as others have said, a "reborn Bale" playing where he is still loved would be massive for us & him.

Makes sense if it's China financially wise! Wasted move for him though footballing wise!

He would earn even more in China than at Real. No club in Europe could afford him after that. Suspect he would give it 2 yrs max there then head to the US to finish his career.

If he goes to China it’s a massive waste. We will not bring him back if it doesn’t happen now... so long Gareth, you were sublime.

Sad to see him off to the retirement home. But him going to China is better for us than him going to anyone we're competing with either commercially or for trophies (whether English or European).

What an absolute waste of talent if he does end up going to China. I’d rather see him at another elite European club than the Far East. I suppose if he does end up there we will know exactly what he does value more, money or sport.

Tbf I'm 34 and I managed to somehow strain ligaments in my feet whilst sleeping the other day.

I’m 38 and tore my left knee meniscus/partially dislocated my knee cap when getting up off the toilet a few weeks ago lol

Bale to China, career suicide.

Certainly better than him going to Utd. If they get loads of Chinese wonga though, does that mean a push for Pogba or Eriksen, or both?
