I don't see any inconsistency at all except for the last performance. He consistently doesn't score and consistently tires in the second half. I think we need to see some more erratic performances like yesterdays.

The goal was a cracker and a glimpse of what he's capable. However (for me) it was a make up for his giving away possession poorly which lead to thier goal. Don't get me wrong , I'm happy for lad, it was his best game but he must clean up his game and get the simple things right.

Yeah thanks for your insight Garth. Spurs have scored just 22 Prem goals in 17 games. It would be fairer to argue the whole team should score more, rather than single out one of the youngest players.

As frustrated as most Spurs fans are that Erik has YET to live up to the price tag, patience will hopefully be rewarded? The absurdly high price Roma mugged Baldini out of is not Lamela's fault . Had he cost the same as Chadli would he draw so much comment?

I seem to remember Anderton struggling first season. Waddle took time to grow into a Spurs legend. And how many Spurs fans wanted Bale out in the first season or so?

It's up to MP and team to develop that undoubted talent, turning Erik into a Prem star, and us to be patient and supportive . The performances and goals will come.

It was poor clearance by Walker hit straight at Lamela that he could not control.
