There are questions about how fatigue will be affecting this England team after the summer, especially Harry Kane, and there will be players who might be starting to feel it now and not feeling as strong or fit.

However you slice it, this comes under the category of a meaningless friendly in my view, and would have much preferred that Poch ask to Kane (England Captain or not) to withdraw from the match, with some kind of niggle.

We bought no replacements in the last window, and our key players will suffer fatigue.

Imagine he picks up a hamstring tear against Spain and is out for 6weeks, we'd all be fuming.

It's not though is it? These are competitive fixtures that will result in teams from Group A going through to a semi-final and a final where they can win a trophy. There's also promotion and relegation involved, qualification for the Euros and it effects your team ranking which affects which group you might end up in during the Euro's/World Cup. It's actually a decent chance for England to try and win something.

As for Kane picking up an injury that could happen in any game. If the club thought he needed a rest they wouldn't have picked him in every game so far this season.

You can't win it unless you fail to qualify to Euros through the normal qualification though...

I guess it's a trophy, but so was Intertoto.

So true! If they need a trophy, I'll go get one made saying whatever our lads want.

I don't think that's right. There's a separate play-off for teams that don't qualify for the Euros (in March 2020), but there's also a semi-final and a final for the Group winners in League A (in June 2019) .

I think we need to give this competition a chance. It's not very prestigious right now as it's early days for it, but it sounds like it will be better than the friendlies and could become a major trophy in the future if it takes off.

Ridiculously too may football matches these days. This is an international that's designed to make money. It is a friendly that has a meaningless trophy attached to it so suckers will pay money to watch it. We should be looking to cut down on matches, not add more. Get rid of the Euros. Only the World Cup is actually worth anything. At this rate, players will be knackered by January rather than May.

Sometimes I really hate what is happening in football.

You're right. So if a top team that doesn't qualify wins the group they will have to play both semis + maybe final for trophy, then play offs for the Euros. Lots of matches there.

Still think it's a bit of a tin-pot trophy.

In general there are far too many games being played, both domestically and internationally. When you look at the total number of Spurs players who have played for their Country during the World Cup, and now these meaningless friendlies, can anyone wonder why most of our players look a yard off the pace after only four games of the new season.

Poch has to learn to ‘play the game’ a little better. Next time there’s an england friendly, maybe Kane and Trippier have taken a knock in training etc etc. He’s like a Boy Scout sometimes.

I just don’t buy into this fatigue bollocks, if you have three weeks off and your not nursing an injury that’s more than enough time. Think it’s a stamina issue, if that’s the case he needs to work on that.

It's not particularly player friendly. Especially post wc.
Personally, to get the best from the premier league (And others) there should be a 2 week delay to the start of a new season after a wc.

To have more internationals at this stage of the season is bananas imo.
