Shaquiri confirmed, much to the apparent delight of the BBC website. Licence fee?! Think he may end up being a shrewd move to be honest, but FFS BBC.

Just seen West Ham picked up Ryan Fredericks on a free. Surprised Fulham let that happen? Felipe Anderson having medical at West Ham according to Sky. It's hard to tell how all these signings are going to gel, but individually, they've signed some decent footballers, and if Pellegrini still has some managerial mojo, he might get a tune out of them.

£13m doesn't get you much these days. Personally i think he's an excellent signing. He is a quality option to have in reserve

I honestly think Sterling scores/assists because of the quality of the players around him and maybe also because of City's general style of play. In Leicester's winning season Mahrez got similar numbers (17 goals and 11 assists) but without same world class players that Sterling has setting him up.

Watching Sterling for England he looks like an above average player, not top class. Rashford typically looked more dangerous when he came on imo.
Sterling scores a lot of goals that are handed to him on a plate by whichever of City's 34 world-class AMs are playing. Shearer said after the Colombia game: "Just because he scores a lot for City doesn't mean he's a good finisher."

If football were played in the mind's eye, Shaquiri would be a world-beater. Sadly, football is actually played on grass, which means he'll score 1 worldie next season, and spend the rest of the time sitting on the bench looking sullen, before moving on to Fenerbache in the summer.

Fredericks decided he should be Fulham's highest paid player by most accounts.

Their pushing for Vasques (Seville) & Marcelo (Lyon I think) never really noticed him watching them.. some guy from Brazil Balsomething or other their just waiting on international clearance..Bernard is another they are having talks with.. Fernandez Sporting at moment decided stay at Sporting.. weirdly Nani will be going back to Sporting

Oh yeah Storari Juve as well.. possibly one of the worst footballers at falling over his feet I've seen..makes Sissoko look like Pele

He looked like an absolute beast in that U20 (or was it U19) WC that Veljkovic's Serbia won a few years back, but every time I watch him lately he seems to turned into a rich mans Huddlestone. To be fair, most of what Ive seen has been with Portugal at the Euro's and WC, so not best environment to judge I guess as they play very passive football, but he just looks so ploddy for them.

I actually thought he was very good for Portugal during this world cup.

I think its a good piece of business for Betis.

The independant nailing the Mahrez transfer

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...s-a8445861.html?amp&__twitter_impression=true

But when you boil it down, the only reason City are really signing Mahrez is because they can. It’s the eighth sports car in your driveway, it’s the gold leaf monogram on your Bottega Veneta suitcase, it’s ordering extra pepperoni on your triple-pepperoni pizza. And that’s why, even if this is just one of hundreds of examples of big clubs picking off the best talent from lower down the chain, this transfer feels particularly wanton, particularly gratuitous, the footballing equivalent of raising both middle fingers to the neighbours, just so they can see the rose gold rings you’re wearing on each

I agree on the hudd comparisons, although I’d say, from what I’ve seen of him, he’s not as talented as Huddlestone was at the top of his game.

Is William Carvalho on holiday and can't pose for his announcement picture?

Not to worry, Betis got this.

Why are people so worried about Spam getting Anderson? There's a reason if he ends up there instead of one of the numerous top clubs he's been linked to through the years.

Could have said the same thing about erisken. He was linked to the top clubs but we got him. You just have to wait and see until we all say I told you so.

I don't worry about any player other clubs sign. We will get the majority of what poch wants, I hope.

Anderson will eventually go on strike to force a move away from Spammers when that day comes
