Not really a done deal though. They might have agreed it, but the window for Spanish clubs doesn't open until 9th July, so reports of a "completed" deal are, quite frankly, bollocks...
If everything is signed then it's a done deal. He just can't be registered with them until July 9th.

It's the same as English clubs agreeing a deal for a player but not being able to register a player until 1st July. If it's signed, it's done.

Arguing it's not a done deal because they can't register him until the 9th July is a bit dopey.

Jovic to RM for €60m being reported

So Real Madrid have started their spending spree with a player that was not widely linked to them.

It'll be interesting to see who else they bring in and how much they'll spend this summer.

If they bring in even a quarter of the big names they've been linked to, they'll probably end up shelling out £400m+

That said, it will make them all the more desperate to off-load Gareth Bale, so fingers crossed!!

Not to mention that anyone like Hazard, Pogba etc. will be on huge wages. Can't imagine they'd be too keen to keep someone on a reported 500k+ P/W sitting around getting paid just to train.

I think it's 95% certain he'll leave this Summer, either on loan or sold, but I can't see too many places that would need him and be able to pay his wages.

I doubt he'd take a pay-cut so it's looking like a loan-deal with Madrid paying a hefty chunk of his wages.

It's dangerous for Madrid though, because it sets a precedent for future deals they make to off-load unwanted players. That said, they may not have a choice in the matter. Also, they president of Madrid might not even care, considering it's not his club and traditionally they've run the place to win the popularity contest / elections that come about every few years. This is the downside of running a club like a democracy.

Is he better than davies then?

I've not watched him week in and week out only seen glimpses and he was very good but judging by the buzz big things are expected of him, I'd say it's expected that he has a higher ceiling than Davies and has the attributes which people favour in a fullback but it stands to reason that we are going ahead with Sessegnon for that role instead. I'm more shocked Liv didn't go for him.

He's a leftback that can play lcb so he'd be an ideal vert understudy

Seen that he's more naturally a centre back whose athleticism has allowed him to play at left back. Maybe Ake will be on the move?
