Same was said when Shevchenko and Torres came to England.

Not really. Shevchenko was already on the decline and Torres had been linked with the PL constantly for years and the consensus among a lot of so-called experts was that he'd struggle in the PL. I don't remember anyone saying anything like that the league was all but sewn up just because Chelsea and Pool signed those two respectively.

Also, as good as Sheva was in his prime, neither of them are even close to being on par with Messi.

Atletico and Chelsea have announced Diego Costa will move in January. No fee mentioned but it was rumoured to be 60m Euros.

Chelsea got Costa for 32 mil and then sells the player (who refuses to play for the club) for 57 mil two years later? How the actual fuck?

Probably just due to the inflation of fees in football (still doesn't make 100% sense on how he cost so much though)

I don’t know how but it’s money laundering
I agree because it's roman (and all those dodgy china deals for crap players from Chelsea) but Atleti may be using the money from the expected sale of Griezmann. but I prefer to think it's laundering.

Big deal for Costa continues impressive Chelsea tradition of getting top dollar for players they no longer want.

Yep, 'tradition'.. makes you wonder. At least in this case, the market has somewhat caught up with the fees Chelsea can recoup. Before, with Luiz in particular, it felt a bit like they were moving money around. Atletico do have Chinese investors, but they are not a majority - although they do sponsor the new stadium - and Chelsea managed to get good money by selling players to China. It does look a bit more like a business agreement than a football transfer.

Although same was guessed at when Barca paid so much for Paulinho due to their president's personal dealings with the Guangzhou group. It was also his release fee outside of the Chinese transfer window.

Is Roy 'Arry in disguise?

Probably scary for Palace but he may be the best option they can sign.

Who has the list of all the players without contracts?

Edit - Seems plenty of links to Rickie Lambert too. They are the options. They will go another 6 games without scoring.

What's the odds on palace to win one nil at old Trafford? I might have a £5 for a laugh
