Although i'm not too bothered about us going for a forward player this summer, if we are to bother then Fekir would make similar sense for us.

He could replace Llorente and Sissoko, having the ability to play left, right, ten and as a striker. I think if Lamela was to leave on top of Llorente and Sissoko then he'd be the ideal replacement.
If he played in midfield with Keita and a DM then the latter and the defence will have a lot of work to do.

In the front three Mane has to take a lesser role, the other two are more important. Fekir would be a nice contrast in this regard.

I didn't think they'd buy anyone that would replace the front three.

The only doubt I have about Fekir - and this applied to us/Poch, so even more with Klopp - is his compatibility with intense pressing football, but if Klopp can get him to buy into his methods, then they are getting one of the best quality attacking players available right now.

I'd have loved us to be in for him, I think he's exactly what we need and as I've said, keeping him happy, positionally, wouldn't be a problem because he's so versatile, and has even been outstanding as a false 9 (in fact, the first time he played as a striker a couple of seasons ao, he scored a hatrick).

Agree completely with this. If Liverpool really are getting him then it’s bad news. They will have a hell of a team next season with the addition of him and Keita. And I’m sure they won’t stop there. I really don’t understand why we don’t move for a player like Fakir. As much as I would like Pulisic or Sess or any of these young stars we are supposedly looking at, they aren’t going to take us up a level any time soon and it’s a gamble. For once it would be nice to spend a bit more and get a player of Fekir’s qulity who would massively help us from the get go. Espechially if the ITK is right and we really do have the money to spend.

He really is a very unique player. I'm a bit disappointed that AtMadrid aren't going in for him, I thought they might fancy him as a fan pacifier for losing Griezman, different player but could work there, behind Costa.

Pereira a great signing for Leicester. They're building a solid squad of players.

I would not rule them out challenging the top six next season if they get more players of that calibre in.
I thought that about Everton last season. Whoops!

Got to be honest I wasn't overly convinced about Everton last summer. The only signings they made that I really rated were Keane and Pickford. They replaced Lukaku with pretty much nobody although I did think Sandro would have done better than he did.

Everyone knows about Sigurdsson here too. Decent but far from the top level.

I think Leicester already have that top quality in Mahrez and Vardy, and they already have some really solid midfield players along with a decent periphery. They probably need to get another couple of defenders in but they could do well imo.

Entireley pointless if that player who gets us higher up the league leaves a year later, we're just back to square one.

If we recouped the outlay and "that player" got us from 3rd to 1st and then left, I wouldn't really give two hoots. We'd have a league title under our belt and I could live with it.

Okay you really think signing Dembele on loan will magically propel us to a league title, wonderful.

I was really talking generally - get an excellent player in for one season, we go up to first, win the league and he then bogs off - fine by me. No one will necessarily propel us to a league title, but if that was the price to be paid, why not?

This is a pipe dream though, what if we don't win the league title, what if he doesn't settle in, you're only talking about what you want to happen and ignoring the other outcomes, it's a risk signing because we are gambing on all the stars falling into place and him coming good in that year.

If he was our player and we actually owned him then it would be worth it but spending a year with us in hope that he'll someone propel us onto another level isn't the greatest of ideas.

We had Klinsmann for a year. Although we didn't win the league, you could argue he propelled us to another level. And like I said, it's just a general statement, not Dembele or anyone else per se.

I get completely all the other factors, settling in, injury etc etc. I'm just suggesting player x on loan or a one year contract making the difference between being nearly men and winners surely has to be worth it.
