£45m for Lewis Dunk....those sorts of fees don’t help anyone when it comes to buying players for sensible prices

Where are you hearing that?

Been reported everywhere.

The next player that Leicester were going buy to replace Maguire was always going to be expensive, these fees don't really surprise me anymore tbh.

With this level of cash flowing about my own team have even announced that they are paying players a fiver a week instead of charging!

Not really

It’s getting ridiculous though

It really is disgraceful how over-priced English players are and as I’ve said before not good at all for the international team as means some are deprived moves to higher clubs, where they’ll go up a level.

Maybe playing cl improves them a bit. But do they actually go up a level or does the hype surrounding them go up?

It's not just English players, this is the market

Well consider this....

I was reading today how Untied are going to spend 80m for Maguire. But to fill Maguire's spot....Leicester are going to spend 45m for Lewis Dunk.

Let that sink in....Lewis Dunk is worth £45m.

The rumor could be bullshit and i would even say Dunk ins't a bad player...but the fact that when someone was putting together a bullshit rumor they were able to choose Lewis Dunk and say...."yeah, he seems to be about a 45m CB"....is mind blowing.

Looks like Rondon is set for China, can't believe a Prem club didn't go in for him at £16.5m but I guess they've thrown massive wages at him anyway.

The market is inflated overall but it’s much worse in England. You’d get more quality for much less by looking to buy elsewhere other than England. However, it does almost force you to bring through club trained players and give them chances, which is a good thing.

Think about this. When Levy was setting Toby's buyout clause at 25 million with a year left on his contract, he thought he would be pricing him out of a move. Fast forward 4 years and Dunk goes for 45.

Yeah exactly, it's not exclusive to English players it's more to do with the league itself.

Sky Sports were saying the Arse are interested in Ziyech who has a 26m buyout clause. I'd be majorly pissed off if they got him and especially at that price.

Talented player, but inconsistent from what I've seen of him. There's a reason the top clubs aren't in for him at that price.

If we're looking to sign a player of his style, I'd want them to be able to perform at the highest level on a regular basis. Signing a 26 year old off the back of 1 good season in the Eredivisie is too much of a gamble for where we want to be.

He’s been consistently good for three years at Ajax. This season got silly in terms of his output.
