He's been immensely disappointing for them is why. Although not helped by all the management changes.

No need for him and Wanyama though really.

He was once chased by many clubs.... looks like a huge mistake for anyone going to inter.

Honestly don't really think we need a Kondogbia type.

We've already got Dembele, Dier, and Wanyama with Winks and Onomah bubbling under the surface.

The only midfielder I'd be interested in seeing us purchase is a dynamic passer or a dynamic attacking threat from deep. Kondogbia isn't really either of those things.

His career has stalled at Inter and no need anyway with Big Vic and Dier.

Wow we really have got ahead of ourselves when anyone bar Messi isn't good enough to dislodge one of our starting 11. I hate to shatter the myth but the Kondogbia of Monaco is a better player than Dembele, Wanyama or Dier. Could Poch get him back to that ? Who knows, but if he did we'd have one of the best CMs in Europe at our club.

I take your point but would contend that Mousa is one of the best CMs in Europe.

We did all think that Dier didn't need rotating/replacing last summer and then Vic turned out to be even better, so what do we know?

Look at it another way, if we did get him on loan he would be our fourth CM that was better than any CM in the goons squad, that would be pretty funny.

We can't afford the current flavour of the day so we either need to find them before anyone else, like Dele, or take a punt on restoring a player who was flavour of the day but has had a wrong turn. The latter is probably less risky, especially if you structure it as a loan with option to buy. Arguably Barkley falls into this category too.

Not really the same as Wanyama, if you want to compare him to anyone in our squad he is closer to Dembele. In truth we don't really have anyone like him, he is quite similar to Vieira as a genuine box to box player.

DM or left footed CB. Jan and Wanyama cover in one??

It's tempting..I don't follow Italian football so I have no clue but he's on such a hot demand couple seasons ago and now seems to be their Sissoko?

Still, if there's a loan to buy though...so few solid LCB out there, just hope Wimmer stays, which is very unlikely from what we know.

@cider spurs will be pleased with this link if not many others will.

I think some see him as just an out and out DM. This couldn't be further from the truth. I think his stats from successful take ons were right up there if not the best last season.

I've stated before that I see him as the closest thing to Dembele replacement/rotation. He drives from deep, can beat a man, very strong and unlike Dembele will look to get shots off.

Add to this his defensive prowess and I'd suggest at circa £16 million we should be all over it.

The guy was considered one of the hottest young players in Europe when at Monaco. He's certainly got it in his locker. Just need Poch to work his magic. Beast of a player in there...Just needs unlocking once more.

Too much upheaval at Inter.

Loan with an option to buy seems like a relatively risk free option for us if Poch sees something in him.

Dembele is unreliable with regards to injuries, so we need someone else who can carry the ball in midfield if needed. If he can also offer cover for Wanyama in the defensive role, then that makes a lot of sense.

People talk about Dier and Wanyama rotating, but if we play 3 at the back regularly, Dier will need to play at centre back, so we then could do with another body in midfield.

Winks and Onomah then offer us the option of more cultured central midfielders (although I remain to be convinced that Onomah is going to break into our first team squad any time soon).

People seem to be assuming that if someone isn't an automatic starter then we shouldn't buy them, but we have a very good 'first XI'. It's now about plugging the gaps in the squad, so if we can do that with a loan then sounds an excellent idea to me.
