We got £18m for Wimmer, who we paid £5m for, a year after he had a good run while Vertonghen was injured. Nkoudou finishing this season strongly I reckon fetches close to £20m in this market.
What are you on??...Wimmer hade done quite well for us covering for Vert and was an international. GKN has done nothing started one game for Burnley. If we get our 8m or so back for him we’ve done well. 20m for him and Jansen would be good to put towards another player

Bit confrontational, I’m not on anything thank you very much...

As for what I’m on... attackers cost more than defenders, and if he starts the next (or most of) 7 games for Burnley it will mean Dyche is impressed. Given that Burnley will have higher standards than 10 odd clubs in the premier league next season, if he’s good enough for Burnley he will be good enough for anybody wanting a first team winger. At 23 he has his career ahead of him too.

Like I said, if I’m summer 2017 Winnee almost tripled in value because he was great for ten games in early 2016, anything is possible in this market. Remember, Wimmer was shocking whenever he played in the 16/17 season.

I’m not saying it would be justified, especially on current evidence, but it Nkoudou finishes strongly clubs will be far more willing to spend £15m-£20m on him after 1/4 of a good season at the end of this season than a winger with even a couple of seasons moderately proven in any European league barring Spain or Germany. That’s the going rate for someone considered first team quality in this league even at the lower end, and if he finishes strongly for Burnley that’s exactly what he will be.

These days those fees get you okay in the premier league, not much more than that.

You're delusional if you think he is worth £20m.

Not once have I said he’s worth £20m. What I have said, more than once, is that if he builds on his breakthrough and finished the season strongly for 7th place Burnley, playing most or all matches, it will mean he has impressed Dyche. Suddenly, he’s not just a Spurs reject, he’s a young winger who has broken through at a good premiership side and earned the trust of a highly rated manager, in those circumstances, yes he is worth approaching £20m because the alternatives at that price, meagre in today’s market, are the players who cost £10m two years ago pre- summer 2017. One of those players.., you got it. George Kevin Nkoudou, who cost £11m in summer 2016. And if a side like Burnley or Newcastle has a choice between spending £15m - £20m on an untested young winger from Ligue 1 or Erevidsie who has shown a few good flashes of skill over 1 season, or spending the same amount on a winger who has had a successful loan spell at a mid table Premiership side, that club will choose the latter because it is a lower risk now and has about the same potential up side. You know how much a highly proven uber talent from those leagues costs now? £40m plus and that’s if there’s a catch. And those players don’t go to lesser Premiership clubs. You know how much a proven player from those leagues costs? £60m plus.

Disclaimer: I do not believe Nkoudou is currently worth £20m and have never said as much. I only think that, IF he finishes strongly, we could command close to that. Anybody who now thinks I am saying he’s currently worth £20m either can’t read, is bloody minded or is just incredibly stupid.

Doesn’t anyone want to see him given a proper chance for us next season?

I would but I can’t see it with the options we now possess.

Lets not forget he's just broken into the team that currently sit (comfortably) 7th. They aren't relegation fodder. He's doing well and I agree if he continues for the run in he could fetch £20m with a Levy involved in the negotiations

Starts again for Burnley today.

Clearly he's done enough to impress Dyche late on, and Burnley can still get Europe if Arsenal win the Europa league or if Southampton don't make the FA cup final as we get three spots in that competition, so they'll want that 7th spot (even 6th isn't out of the question).

If he plays every game till the end of the season, impresses and gets a 3/4 goal contributions then there's a decent fee there for us.

Seems he was considered the worst player on the pitch today though one poster explains that somebody professional thought he had a good game

"I see GK is picking up consistent low marks and if I was allowed to score I would have been in that range. The professional view, on his substitution, was that he'd had a good game especially with his defensive effort.
Funny game football."

Lucas Moura...a vastly superior player currently isn't getting the minutes and he has done more in each of his appearances than N'Koudou has managed in his entire career.
