Mane is an exceptional player, not far off world class, would absolutely walk into our team
Many Saints fans would disagree with you. Too inconsistent to be considered anywhere near world class.

Instead of who??

He scores more goals than any of our midfielders
He's 24. When Alli's 24 he'll probably be one of the best midfielders in the world. He isn't world class atm but he is only about 22? has the potential to be so in 3 or 4 years

Probably because he's a forward
Liverpool are fucking awful at transfers.
Even looking at some of the transfers they made in the past are pathetic
- They already have enough AMs
- They still spend £25 million on one the was relegated last season
They just spend massive sums of money on average players. I think they feel like they're still a top class team able to dish on money but considering they're not even in the Europa league they can't attract top class players.
- Bought Andy Carroll for £35 million
- Bought Benteke for £32 million
- Bought Mané for £30 million
- Bought Lovren for £20 million
- Bought Markovic for £19.5 million
Their transfers are just a joke. None of the players I listed should've been more than £20 million including Wijnaldum.

wijnaldum.. while i agree the price is maybe not quite right, i do think this could be one we look at later in the year and wish we had of went for..
Does Liverpool have a transfer polucy of not negotiating asking prices or something? Euther that or they have the worst negotiators in football. Christ almighty. Again the ship out an absurd asking price?
£25m is £25m no matter how you look at itJust not sure about this guy - I'd have been really wondering why we had paid £25m for him. Liverpool have a higher budget than us, so £25m may be less for them, though I think he's in a position that they don't really need strengthening.
I don't think buying him would have been the difference between us doing well or not this year. If we had that sort of money burning a hole in our pockets there are plenty of players I'd prefer, not least Gotze (which obviously isn't happening for whatever reason)
They're certainly going big again on transfers, difficult to say how it'll turn out
Yes but they will be a Stronger football team for it. Why people keep worrying about money spent is bafflingThe thing is you get some people pointing to Liverpool and stating how they can get their negotiions over the line with ease while we faff about. This is the reason why.
But 25 million down the drain for the likes of United is much more meaningless than 25 million down the drain for the likes of Bournemouth.£25m is £25m no matter how you look at it
