It’s a tough concept to grasp, but if we have more than 11 fit players we could try different formations for different opponents.

Apparently this is something other clubs do, some to considerable success!

I’m sceptical, but willing to see how it might work if we actually sign some players...

Disagree, I think the best teams, establish a formation, train on it inside out, even getting the youth setups to play that way and stick by it.
Look at the trophy winners this season. City and Liverpool had one formation all season

He looks like very one sided when he plays. Will this be an issue ?
To be fair we have some of the best two footed players in the world in Sonny, Eriksen and Kane. We lack a sweet left foot in our squad. He uses his body extremely well to manipulate it onto his stronger foot. I doubt it’s an issue if you’re good enough at getting your touches into the right position onto your strong side, and using your body to get it onto your stronger side which I believe he is.

Agreed. Unable to see how confident he is on his right foot. I’m sure this is something the scouts will be aware of though.

He looks different to Eriksen, there’s a little bit of Lamela in him imo. I could see him playing in the left side of a 3 in the modern mezzala role combining with players down that side.

Only what we know but more positive stuff

For those of us who keep sweating the funding Lyall included this line in his write-up

"Any deal would almost certainly smash Tottenham’s transfer record - but Pochettino is understood to have been given the chance to spend a significant chunk of Spurs’ Champions League revenue early in this transfer window.

The club will then look to accrue further funds through player sales and reinvest in improving the squad ahead of next season."

If we're operating this window with the CL money as the fund and the rest is just player sales it's quite depressing. I was under the impression we'd have 150m+ to buy with this window. Just Lo Celso and Ndombele would be 120 or more if the figures in the media are correct. Add Clark and Sessegnon and we're already up at 160-170M. 60+ for Lo Celso, 60-70 for Ndombele, 20-25 for Sessegnon and 10-15 for Clark, right?

It's probably been covered already but why didn't it work out for him at PSG?

Would that be the revenue from the 17/18 season, the 18/19 season (bumper pay-day, that one), or an advance on the 19/20 season?

Because we seem not to have spent any of it ;)

C'mon Levy, money, money, money...make it rain!!!

If CE stays, we will still try to finalise both (cross fingers and all that)

Wow, if that were to happen

They would have had to sell because of FFP and Tuchel wanting someone else. They spent a good chunk of last summer trimming the squad and Tuchel promoted a few youth players.
