I’m sure silence usually means nothing is close. If it was close, the papers or itk would be coming out with a lot more noise about it being near to being done. As I’ve said, I don’t think we will see any action in now until the last few days, if at all. When it gets this late in the window, if we do anything, it’s at the end.

I'm new to this forum and it looks great. But the problem is, anybody who posts anything controversial or with a slight bit of criticism gets shot down and ridiculed by all the Levy lovers. We all want Spurs to be successful, and opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one. Just because someone has concerns or is being negative, doesn't make them less of a supporter.

On a brighter note, let's hope we win the Audi Cup tonight for some confidence going into the new season. COYS
is that just an opinion based on your personal observation or can you state that as matter of fact?

I’ve sometimes feel though it’s best to keep one’s arsehole to oneself. *on the whole (for some on here)

I hope you're right about Lo Celso mate because at present, our squad is not big enough or good enough IMO. We lost over 20 games last season and that can't just be blamed on a World Cup hangover. We need greater depth and some extra bit of quality. Hopefully Levy will sort that in the next 9 days!!!

please explain why it can't be blamed on 12 players playing in the WC, no preseason, no signings because we had a squad of 28 and most weeks we had 6-7 players out injured. 11 of those played even more international matches every break, Son played in 2 Asia tournaments, and we played 59 out of a possible 64 fixtures in a season. you don't think that would burn them out?

It's a combination I'd say, injuries would occur less if players weren't overplayed when returning, I think the answer to your debate lies somewhere in the middle.

Spot On. Where you don't agree... Engage the poster.

It's normally a great sight with loads of banter. Some of us are just concerned with our business done so far, which is not nearly enough.[1] As the window draws to a close, its natural for supporters to get edgey with only 1 signing in.[2] We not happy making up the numbers and recognize that we fell apart in the 2nd half of the season[3] and need more than one signing. 8 days left....
1) Except it literally is nearly enough as we look like keeping Rose, Alderweireld and Eriksen, so adding Lo Celso will have us sorted.
2) We have signed 2 first team players.
3) None of the factors that led us to "fall apart" are present going into the new season.

The perfect storm. Hope this is just me thinking worst case but it’s a possibility that’s becoming more likely.

Junior to Barça, nice bit of wedge for Betis, balances the books.

Inter’s Icardi only wants to join Napoli so Napoli free up a spot by shipping off Milik and wedge to Betis for GLC.

Great window by Betis, even better for Napoli!

We signed TWO first team players? What?

Suggests it is nowhere near being done
I know some live and hope it's close to being done but both UK and Seville based media report the posturing is at a standstill and will likely go until deadline day.

I really hope we do get both of them & I'd be happy if we got them both to add to N'Dombele but at present I just can't see it. I get your point on the pre season etc but the fact is we're leaving things to last minute yet again and not doing what Poch clearly wants. Have we got a Plan B if we sign neither? Because I can't see us linked with anybody else at present? And it was quoted several times by Lyall Thomas and Alisdair Gold over the Summer that when Poch said we needed to act like a big club, he meant get our targets in as early as possible so they can get involved in his brutal pre season sessions. If we don't sign players until deadline day, they won't be up to scratch or fully fit for us for a good few weeks.

there is just under 8 days left so not quite lastminutedotcom yet. why would Poch expect them in by now when they are not any use to us. Sess can't even fully train yet.

if we haven't got plan B's perhaps that's as much as Poch not wanting plan B's and if we are not being linked with any, I expect not. Poch doesn't want players that can't improve the team, and just because you might think there are many plan B's good enough a big possibility Poch doesn't, and with plan B's if they don't work they are harder to sell when they fail.

again at getting them in early, to of got Lo Celso in way early we would of been buying him for his buyout, plus paying him for 2 months. with Sess we would of had to do it early, he would then of come back injured and not only we would of being paying him, we would be treating him too. why not buy players and pay them when they can actually contribute

Hasn't GLC got to be happy to go there though, from what we've heard he want's to come to us, that could be the saving grace.
