OK. I know that in their day they were the best, indeed Nicklaus was the best of all, but I wish that they'd leave these old boys at the ninth green of the par three course. It's daft that they tee of first on the first day of the masters. Clearly, it's got great traditions but this ain't one of them.

Why? Its great for the fans as well as respectful to the legends.

14 under after day 2 of the masters is a bit ridiculous, but we all saw what happened to Mcilroy on the final round a few years back, so anything can happen.

Just 3 people within 7 shots ... It's a different sort of pressure for him isn't it. He must be starting to think - however much he tries not to - that he should win it. But I think he'll go for it as he has the first two days and ask the question of those behind. Today is going to be fascinating. How will Mickelson start I wonder ...

If Mickelson or even Tiger/McIlroy gets a run going and the crowd start making some noise around the course, that's when the pressure will start to hit Spieth.

I don't enjoy many golf tournaments on TV, but the Masters in general is one of the best, and it's been a bit boring watching him make birdie after birdie, putt after putt. It's much more enjoyable as a fan to watch when it's closer. Fair play to Spieth he's played great golf but it's a bit boring.

Player looks like he could comfortably play all 18 carrying his own clubs.
My Golfing idol.
No harm as you say the three teeing off.

Player absolutely could. He'd probably win most medal tournaments in any given club at a weekend as well.

I think the kid's got a good head on his shoulders. Would be very surprised to see him unravel like Mcilroy did.

The swine has ruined my weekend (for watching the golf anyway). All bets off cos of him, apart from perhaps a little bit back from a probable Dustin Johnson place. Was tempted to back him but 12/1 seemed ridiculously short for a 21 year old. Fair play to him though, he's been a machine.

My bets were on Spieth and Day. Annoyingly Day didn't have too good a second round, hopefully he can pick it up and get a place.

Eagle on 2 for McIlroy and Birdies on 2 and 3 for Woods. If those 2 can put together low rounds today it will be good. They are the 2 that the crowd want to see chase down speith.

In a dream world if they can both get to within 5 of Speith at close of play we will be in for a good Sunday.

Throw Mickelson into the mix and the patrons will be well happy!

A lot depends on Spieth's start here ...

It's a star studded middle board so hopefully they can all get in the mix.

It is, and you have to be impressed by Woods.

3 birdies in a row for Mickelson, but a first one for Spieth, and he doesn't look nervous yet.

I still think he is going to run away with it, but I'm just hoping he has a "poor" day and is sat in his hotel tonight looking at Tiger,Rory and Phil breathing down his neck (figuratively).

Even better if he woke up Sunday and all 3 stood looking at him shaking their heads :cautious:

I still think it'll be exciting tomorrow. Mickelson is looking ominous. Speith has unreal temperament for a 21 year old.

Spieth needs to start making mistakes for anyone else to have a chance now. Anyone within 4 shots come the end of the day is in within a chance. Any more than that and they are playing for places I think.
