Cudicini played the last 3-4 PL games of the 2010-11 season, but I'm unsure whether Gomes was dropped or injured (I presume injured).
Friedel was signed that summer and was straight in as no.1. Neither of Cudicini or Gomes played a single minute of PL football that season, but Cudicini was on the bench ahead of Gomes after the first game of the season. Presumably this was due to Gomes falling out with Redknapp, rather than because Cudicini had convinced Redknapp that he was the better keeper.

Irrespective of who looked calmer, I stand by my comment that I presume Gomes was left out of matchday squads due to having fallen out with the manager, rather than because the manager rated Cudicini more highly. Otherwise, Cudicini would surely have been playing ahead of him during the previous season, before Friedel arrived.

I think rednapp replaced him for Carlo before Brad signed as he Gomes was so erratic
