He was in the transfer thread I believe. And there were videos posted of him growing up playing football and an article. That what you remember DaSpurs?

Yeah I remember us being linked, but I don't think that was it. Honestly, I think I first saw him mentioned on a board with some American friends where we just talk random shit, and did some research as I had never heard of him and like to be aware of the better up-and-coming English players at smaller clubs in particular as obviously those are the ones we're more likely to poach.

A swap here would make sense. If Coventry can get a good young player who can help them for free and then some additional cash, it would make more feasible sense to them rather than a pure sale to someone else. With his versatility and the fact we do seem to be looking at English youth, it's not beyond reason that Mitchell highlighted him.

Ward was voted MOTM in the game against Fleetwood by Coventry Telegraph readers, and he's currently in second place for the game today.

CCFC lost 3-1 to Doncaster today.

From Twitter:

thought Grant Ward was the only one of any decency today.

Grant Ward and Dominic Samuels the only two worthy of any effort today. What happened to the fighting force we had under Pressley? #PUSB

Coventry lost 0-1 to Leyton Orient. The BBC writeup makes it sound as though Ward was their most impressive player:

"City were left to bemoan their bad luck after on-loan Tottenham midfielder Grant Ward was denied by both the post and visiting keeper Alex Cisak.

...

After a dreary first half, Ward's stunning dribble followed by curled right-foot effort straight after the break looked likely to spark the game into life.

But it hit the post to trigger a catalogue of Coventry near misses.

George Thomas had a shot cleared off the line by O's defender Mathieu Baudry after an error by keeper Cisak, who then made amends by tipping Ward's curling shot over before City centre-half Aaron Martin then headed just wide.

Ward's inswinging corner was then kept out from under the bar by Cisak, before another cross with the outside of his right foot somehow passed across the face of goal.

But, with 12 minutes left, Orient broke away and Wright kept his cool to fire past on-rushing home keeper Lee Burge."

Ward is going to win MOTM from the Coventry Telegraph yet again, currently rated at 7.7 with the next best player at 6.2.

He's seemingly impressed the twitter crowd now as well:

@GrantWard_ is a player. Great feet and forward thinking. So unlucky hitting the post. Gutted we were let down by poor defending, again.

How good is Grant Ward though?

Grant Ward is an absolute class act. Him and Pennington don't deserve to play in such a poor poor side. #PUSB

Grant Ward is a baller #pusb #Spurs

Coventry City's starting XI averages 23 years and 292 days, with the youngest player in the line up Grant Ward

@GrantWard_ Thank You for photo tonight mate! Best player we have by a country mile

Coventry draw 0-0 w Notts County, Ward impressing again today. Twitter reacts:

It's silly how much better Grant Ward is than nearly everyone else. Nouble infuriating. Pennington decent. Have to win on Saturday.

County were awful, we were slightly less awful. Grant Ward ran the show, best player of the pitch by a country mile. #pusb

Played 90' as Coventry upend Khumalo's Cochester 1-0. CCFC out of the relegation zone and up to 16th place, though not out of trouble yet.

Seems to be doing excellent, good for him. Watched him a few times for Chicago Fire but was never really impressed. Hopefully he can break through at Prem level.

Dawkins has been a hit for Derby. Maybe Grant can be at least a good Championship player.
Does anyone have an idea of the fee we got for Dawkins? My memory is it was about £250k.
These sums are not inconsiderable.

Never been a stand out player in our youth academy, but he's clearly a talented lad and it seem he has a very good attitude.
I never thought Livermore would make it at same age, perhaps Ward can do similiar. Like Livermore he's played in several positions, wouldn't rule out Ward as an utility player for a few years in the Spurs side.

One CCFC supporter quoted in the Cov Telegraph: "I’m going to give Mowbray a big pat on the back and plump for Grant Ward as the signing of the season"
