Or, Levy and Poch accurately pegged him as a £20-25M player with some upside, and AV over-valued him as a £40M+ player.

which was a sound judgement. But slightly unedifying raising the offer at the last minute. The Master deal-maker, with one good deadline day deal on his record in nearly two decades, which fell into his lap, operates in a parallel universe where the price always comes down...

if no release it is a weird decision....unlike Zaha he has the chance of playing for England if he joined us even next summer

He’s so disappointed that he signed new contract! He could have let it run down and kept options open for a future move.

He's a villa fan. Says leaving would have been good for him and villa when they were in trouble. They're not in trouble anymore so guess staying is good for him.

And some people on here were canning Levy for not signing him.

They really weren’t - they were caning Levy for supposedly putting all of our eggs in one basket and not even delivering what should have been an icing on the cake squad player let alone a single one of Pochs actual key targets that would have seen us genuinely compete this year vs the tight race for 4th we are going to be in

No mate, don't tell me they weren't, I read the posts and remember them. Some people were as you say, but I know what I read.
