Pep Guardiola conceded that the poor state of the Wembley pitch helped Manchester City beat Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, as he felt that Erik Lamela would have scored his late chance had it not been for the condition of the grass.

We saw how when Erickson and Dele came on, we were a much better team. We showed that a fit first 11 is a match for anyone. The task for Poch is to integrate Moura, a talented and industrious player with superb attitude, into that unit.

No mention for winks? He was by far the most Influential sub. Eriksen did nothing of note. Alli was lively though I agree.

couldnt agree more, game turned when pep took aguero off and we brought winksy on, he has to start more games. could see as soon as he came on, the team were more forward thinking as opposed to safe sideway passing that it was before.

Totally agree but wonder if Poch is protecting Winks. He’s had best part of a year out with injury which is a long time, especially at such a young age & at that stage of his development.
I think he will be first choice CM by the end of the season but he prepared to see him rested occasionally, to save him from secondary injuries.

Sorry I don't see it. The was no worse bobble than you get on any pitch. I don't want to diss the guy as he's been great lately, but the miss was more down to technique - he was leaning back, head behind the ball at impact.

Winks made a big difference and it was odd that it took that long to bring him on. Poch seems slow to make subs, and the writing was on the wall for a second City goal yesterday when City were getting in behind us and created a glaring chance at around 55 mins. Winks came on on 67 mins. I think we needed to change that dynamic and while it wasn't a comfortable night for City, Lamela's miss and Kane's heavy touch were about the extent of their worries.

And Trippier needs reminding that defending is part of his remit.

Pep is a nice guy when he is winning or has won, but when things go against him he turns quite bitter.

So it did bobble then
