I know that this isn't relevant to most on here, but for any Irish Spurs fans, just seen that Guillem Balague will be in Belfast in June talking about the Poch book.

It's in the Black Box but you can buy tickets through the Belfast Book Festival.

Only £8 - be rude not to.

Just passing this on - if this shouldn't be here mods - I apologize unreservedly and await my caning.

Just a quick point - not related to his Belfast appearance - he's on the latest edition of the Fighting Cock podcast and gives a very interesting interview well worth the listen.

I especially enjoyed his response to the question "Do we need to win a trophy? Any trophy at all.." Puts Poch's ambition in a new perspective for me

Can you kindly summarize the gist of it for us not residing in England?

I recorded most of it on my phone (audio), was interesting enough. He mentioned a senior player singing/screaming the Jose Mourinho song into Jesus Perez's face, in the aftermath of losing the cup final to Chelsea in 2015, but didn't name who it was.

Didn't really get to ask him too much, I was working so missed the very start of it.

Two answers I found interesting on the podcast:

Q. Are you surprised with how successful Pochs has been since coming to England?
A. Pochettino once asked me when he was manager of Espanyol how i saw his career going? And i said that i thought he would take Espanyol to the UCL and maybe win a trophy, get snapped up by a larger team in Spain like Valencia or Atletico and win a few more trophies, move abroad to an italian or or German team and win the league and then Real would come in for you, you'd win the UCL a few league titles and leave after a few years to return to Espanyol again. Pochettinos response was "what a mediocre career".

Then when Balague was asked "do you think Spurs need to win a trophy? Any trophy? Maybe a league cup?" His response was: " are you even listening to yourself? League cup?? What is that? You either want to be satisfied with mediocrity or you want to aim to be the best. When Spurs played West Ham everyone told Poch we must beat them, to which Poch said "who are West Ham to us?" We have to beat everybody not just West Ham"
It was an interesting perspective and made me think Poch has much higher ambitions than we are aware of as fans.
