I don't know why someones put a wtf rating when I said that Arsenal is a bigger club than us. They have a bigger fan base than us and are more established than us on a global scale. But only because they are a bigger club, it doesn't mean they are better or more attractive than us. We are better and more attractive than them. We are on our way up, they have been declining for years. We have been playing in the CL for several years, while they have been playing in the EL. We have the chance to win the biggest club tournament in the world, while they have the chance to win the poor mans version of it. So yeah, bigger doesn't mean better or more attractive.

That's why I think we have a better shot of signing Ziyech than Arsenal.

He's very trigger happy, I don't just mean in terms of shooting on sight but he also loves a raking cross field pass or execute an eye of the needle threaded ball. Very agressive and confident with a wealth of ability at his disposal. He's also a willing runner and gets himself about on the pitch.

So far he's played in an ideal environment and I have a few reservations on how his offensive approach to the game might translate to English football or how he'll respond to adversity but I would still take a chance on him if his price is under our reach. I think he'd love it here and we would be his best opportunity to succeed in the PL

Maybe you can sign up to an Everton forum and explain to them how much bigger Liverpool are.

I’m sure they’ll love it.

Well, as I said bigger has nothing to do with quality. Man U has been shit for years, but they are still the biggest club in the world along with Real Madrid and Barcelona. There's nothing to be upset over. And if we keep moving in the right direction we will also become a bigger club. We have a new stadium, plays in the CL and have a chance to win it this season. The Spurs brand will grow. Sensitive topic..

Certainly an interesting option, especially at that price. We like to do business with Ajax so I imagine we'll be considering the likes of Ziyech and Van de Beek.

Interesting. There’ll be other suitors of course (Bayern?) but one would hope we’d be in for him. Bargain at that price.
Definitely but it's never as easy as see bargain, get bargain. He'll have a good number of suitors, will know he is cheap in the market, and therefore can maximize his salary/up front cash. Also we have no itk or news that he is a top target for us. He may well be a backup and if it takes us a long time to get a definitive no on one of our main targets then we well may miss out. Or we would have to decide to forego our main target to get the backup which as of yet has not seemed to be a favored approach of Levy or Poch.

Absolute no brainer. Unfortunately, everybody else and their dog will be after him.
Too right. Ironically, in a summer window where it’s incomprehensible that we won’t spend a fair bit, we’re seemingly delaying making moves for a few weeks!

Yeah, would be interesting to see how he would cope in a tougher league if he has a hard time. All that aggressive creative play requires an amount of confidence.

Overmars also said they want van de Beek to stay and he will be rewarded with am improved contract

I still think only players to leave Ajax this summer will be de Jong, de Ligt and Ziyech

Agree with you. Regarding main targets and backups, it looks like circumstances might force us to decide earlier than usual. Brandt possibly going to Dortmund; Grealish will likely stay at Villa if they get promoted and suddenly our options for a new attacking midfielder are a bit more limited.

Honestly not that bummed. I just knew this one didn't have any legs. Good player but he wouldn't displace Eriksen, Dele or Son and probably wouldn't accept a backup role here.
