Seems to be a lot of debate on here about if we are in a good position or not and if this season has been a triumph or a disappointment and to be honest I'd have to say both. A triumphant disappointment if you will.

Personally I believe we have had the most exciting (due to the cl) for ages but also very disappointing because of the lack of a decent striker.

Would be Interesting to see the general consensus on here

Im 50/50 but I just made a sandwich!

Why do have to debate this stuff.. If there is not a Spurs fan out there that is not absolutely gutted at this point of the season I would be bloody surprised. It was going great until the wheels fell off and now we still have a murderous run in and our current form is average!

And we are dying for one or two of the players to really jump start the end of the season so we can finish the season with the honour we deserve.

Half full. Were still in with a chance right now. If we are 7 points behind on Sunday afternoon, the fat lady will have sung I fear. However, we could be only 1 point behind, and if so, that is very much game on.

Half full, we are still in with a fighting chance, there will still be slip ups along the way yet.

If the gap increases this Sunday its as good as done.

Although I think the Pikeys have a chance, if Parker is playing....they could make it a long hard afternoon for City if they play like they did at WHL...even allowing for the fact that we should of scored a few.

Half empty.

Our future success is dependant upon increased revenues generated by continued CL participation and/or a bigger stadium. As the latter is still just a pipe dream then we need to achieve the former.

We have thrown away fourth place (or better) this year. Somebody posted on another thread the games (W. Ham, WBA, Wigan etc) that have cost us. If we had scored just one more goal in those six or seven matches, we would have 12 more points. Twelve. We would be nailed on for CL and in with an outside chance of the title. [I fucking hate teams whose name starts with 'W'.]

Although we still have a theoretical chance of getting it, I don't believe - given our recent results - that we've got a snowball's chance in hell. It's true (I hope) that we'll still have the same players next year and that we can improve upon this year, but failing to get CL again delays our progress.

So in spite of a memorable CL campaign, it's a chance missed and a half-empty glass for me.

Our "fans" need to realise that because we made the top 4 once - and this was mainly due to Citeh failing - doesnt mean that we will make it every year. This is like when we enter the FA cup we dont win it every year.

Now look at the teams we're competing with:

Manchester United - stole/bought our best players from us, have 3 players that cost over £30million each and various others who are worth just as much. Their annual turnover is £310m.

Chelsea - owned by a billionaire who doesnt mind spending vast amounts of his own personal fortune on his football club - currently in excess of £800million. Chelsea spent £80million in the January transfer window. Their annual turnover is £226m

Arsenal - arguably they have the best footballing manager in the league. Well run with a turnover of £250m

Manchester City - the richest club in the world. Have various players on £150k per week contracts.turnover is £137m

Our turnover is £120m

So we cant compete with any of the above in financial terms. When are our fans going to realise that our place in the footballing hierarchy is with the Liverpool's, Everton's and Villa's of this world and not the new sky 4. We didint buy any players that would have improved our squad during the windows, so what? All the players we tried for either didnt want to come or were bought by City and Liverpool.

half full. if you look at our squad, and the injuries we've had, we're doing well to be within shouting distance of the top 4 in the last month.

Half-Full

We're 5th in the league and showed the rest of the world what an exciting team we have on our CL run. Our top talents are all tied down too long contracts and we have a good bit of money in the bank to spend this summer. To top it all off we have some really exciting fixtures coming up and we're still in with a shot at the top 4 even if it is a small one. One last thing we have a sweet looking training facility getting built and our board are currently planning a way to build us an amazing new stadium. Oh yeah and I'm starting to get used to our season lasting 8 or 9 months instead of the 4 or 5 that was the norm for so many years.

half empty . The PL is at its weakest this year . We have missed a great chance to push on from the 4th place finish . This squad should have done better .

The CL experience was awesome BUT disappointed we haven't bought a top notch striker on the back of getting there. As it looks like we are not going to get back into the CL I now think we have missed a great opportunity. So half empty for me.
