Manchester United urged to break world transfer record for Tottenham's Harry Kane NOT Cristiano Ronaldo by Jose Mourinho

The Red Devils' boss wants the England striker and £60m target Alvaro Morata leading his attack next season

Jose Mourinho wants his Manchester United bosses to get £100million Spurs star Harry Kane ... and ignore Cristiano Ronaldo.

Old Trafford boss Mourinho has made it clear he would prefer a move for striker Kane rather than an attempt to bring Ronaldo back to Manchester.

The 32-year-old Real Madrid forward has been linked with a return to previous club United since vowing to quit Spain after becoming involved in a tax row, and their executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward was looking at signing off a £100m-plus deal for the Portuguese World Player of the Year.

But now that it appears Ronaldo could be staying at the Bernabeu, Mourinho has urged his employers to make Tottenham an offer they can’t refuse for long-time target Kane — as well as trying to close a £60m deal with Real Madrid for forward Alvaro Morata .

Tottenham insist they will not listen to any bids for their star player, but a mind-blowing offer of Ronaldo proportions – in the region of £100m – would certainly give chairman Daniel Levy food for thought.

Mourinho is a huge fan of Kane's, and believes United should pay whatever it takes to land him.

The ‘Special One’ believes a strike-force of the England international and Morata would enhance the Reds' Premier League title ambitions more than Ronaldo’s arrival in the twilight of his fellow countryman’s career.

Maureen and manure both think clubs will bend over and lube up and wait with a smile on their face while manure pucker up to do what they want. Fuck off to club and manager - Spurs are on the up - off and in the pitch. Yes manure can offer more wages at the moment. But they are a club who are throwing ridiculous money at players to try to win things

If Man Utd got FIFA to ratify the official transfer of their 20x League titles and 3x European Cup wins to Tottenham Hotspur's honours list in perpetuity, I would reluctantly consider an £800m bid.

Matic is apparently going to United which makes the Dier "rumor" lose some traction. So, naturally, the rumor changes to Kane. It's all just so fucking predictable.

What if united offer Harry 300k a week? Surely one of our own wouldn't kick up a fuss...I hope!

I think DANIEL would only budge for something in the range of $200M. o_O

(Downpayment, with add ons amounting to an additional $300M over three years)

What a joke of a report.

Lol you couldn't make it up.

Sorry it appears that you can.

Not sure about made up. It could be, but as you've often told us these stories can appear because someone wants them to. Who plants it and to what purpose is the really interesting question.

The trouble is that in this case any attempt to answer really is speculative.

What I feel we can say with some confidence is it won't have come from our side, either Kane's reps or the club.

My guess is it's Mourinho's people, and perhaps for no other reason than to stir things up a bit. It could be a poke at us and at Levy, or at the UTD hierarchy, a smoke signal to the player, or a titbit for the journo as payment for some other favour. It could be all, some, or none of these things, but it definitely isn't is a sign Harry wants to leave, that we might sell, or that Utd would contemplate an offer this summer.
