Spurs boss not playing patient game in crucial Euro clash.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has urged his players "to get after them" ahead of their make-or-break UEFA Champions League clash with Young Boys.

The English side go into the play-off 3-2 down after last week's first leg on the Swiss club's plastic pitch.

But it could have been far worse, with Redknapp's side 3-0 down inside half-an-hour before goals from Sebastien Bassong and Roman Pavlyuchenko rescued the Londoners.

Redknapp now believes his side must push on and get after the Swiss outfit, rather than playing patiently for the single goal they now need to reach the lucrative group stages.

    Swarm

"We've got to swarm all over them if we can," said Redknapp, who also wants the home fans to create an "intimidating" atmosphere.

"I wouldn't sit here saying we've got to be patient. I think we've got to get after them."

He added: "If the players play as they can play, we're going to be very difficult to beat."

But if the unthinkable happened and Spurs lost or drew, then Redknapp believes the club would have got what they deserved.

He added: "Listen, if we can't win, then we don't deserve to be in the competition.

"If we can't win, what chance have we got anyway? So, we will find out how good we are."

    Finances

With a minimum £10million prize money on offer just for reaching the group stage, the game is arguably one of the biggest in Tottenham's recent history.

But the experienced Spurs boss has played down the financial side of the game, having experienced big relegation and promotion games throughout his long career, as well as an FA Cup success with Portsmouth.

"I don't think about the money," he said.

"It would be a great honour to get the club into the Champions League group stages now.

"It'd be fantastic to bring that to White Hart Lane."

I'm very confident that we'll win tomorrow night but I have to admit I'm a little worried that there's only a few days of the transfer window left to bring in the players 'Arry says he kneeds.
Obviously with timing so crucial hopefully all the leg work has been done prior to this week meaning as soon as we've beaten the Swiss boys D.L. will start signing the players that are pending in order to allow us to compete in the Champions and not just be another number.
