We are delighted to announce that our FA Cup Third Round tie with Peterborough United at the Lane on Saturday, January 2 is a sell-out.

Tickets for the clash with the Championship club went on general sale on Tuesday morning (December 15) and, such was the response from our fans, the last remaining seat was sold by 11am!

With the game coming so soon after Christmas, part of the year that can prove to be so expensive for many, especially during a recession, the Club would like to extend its gratitude for such committed support.

Manager Harry Redknapp said: "This is further proof of the fantastic support we receive from our fans all year round.

"We all know that the New Year period just after Christmas is never the easiest time for people to pay money to come to a football game.

"But the fact that tickets have sold out so quickly shows the enthusiasm and passion our fans have for this Club, and the players will no doubt be absolutely thrilled to be playing this tie in front of a packed stadium.

"It should be a cracking cup tie and I would like to extend a big thank you on behalf of everyone at the Club to all the fans who will be there on the day hopefully cheering us on to the next round."

When people consider if we could sell out the new stadium I think this shows that there is demand. Peterborough, on the 2nd of January, and all that entails, is not the most glamourous tie but while a lot of Prem clubs will struggle to sell out their stadium we could probably sell ten thousand more!

It does come as part of the season ticket though.

That's still another 14000 tickets to move, including the mandatory allocation to the Posh.
