ali z: His back but still struggling with ankle, hopefully it's only physiological.
Doesn’t sound promising, in many ways it would be preferable to be a physical problem rather than a psychological one
I'd read it as hopefully it's only a physical problem, and hopefully once that has healed he'll be fine, and not that he has a psychological problem with it too.

Was trying to think of central midfielders that would improve us and we could realistically afford even if we went all out , Verratti no chance, Ratatic ha, Kovacic hmmm, Modric I miss you x. Depressing just f’ing spend all the money and sign someone!

But then I remembered we have one of the best central midfield talents I have seen in years in the shape of Harry Winks, moulded by Poch, and one of our own.
Really hope he recovers from injury problems and picks up where he left off!

Mrs is out tonight, so to cheer myself up from our lack of signings I will be watching the Madrid game I still have on my sky box (pin protected :sneaky:) and remind myself of how good this kid is and the player he could become for us.

Didn't Bale have a similar issue, he was always worrying about his ankle, the physio jogs over has a look, nothing doing; eventually Redknapp just told them to stop fussing over him (I'm badly parrot phrasing here)

Rumour was Coco's hip was rumoured more mental than physical too (or he'd only trust the 2nd opinion of his ex Roma physio)

I Can understand the ankle anxiety, Such an annoying injury. Done mine so many times and then you think its fine only to give it the slightest turn and its back to stage one.

Similar happened to Pritchard when he got his new contract, came back before he was truly ready, got re-injured and we never saw him again.

He's got a tool alright if you believe the social sections of the papers. A bit of a likely lad our Harry. Hope he can weave the magic wand on the field as well.

Purely in the figurative sense mind :cautious:

I stand by my belief that if Winks didn't get injured, England would've made the World Cup final.

A quick one regarding Winks. So far in his short career he's had 4 separate malleolar/ ankle injuries that have ruled him out for 216 days in total. Are there any long term concerns that this will be a recurring issue with Harry and that it could stagnate his career?

Does anyone have any info on this or how his rehab is going?

To be fair though if you had the awesome eye brows he had, you'd be using them to weave the magic of love.

Lets hope he can overcome his ankle injury for good .. It could be hard for him to get some proper game time this season depending on who we sign so he needs to push on.

Let hope he has an injury free season, has a huge amount of talent/potential I really do look forward to seeing him fulfilling it.

Can't wait to have this guy back. He was different quality early in the season but then obviously the injury and the City away game knocked his confidence around.

Hopefully he comes back fit, confident and ready to go. We need him.

Really hope he has an injury free season. Such an important year for him, he has the opportunity to stake his claim as our first choice CM. I fear that another disjointed and injury ravaged season might force us to look elsewhere.

Unrelated, but Oliver Skipp seems to have graduated from the Phil Jones School of Ridiculous Facial Expressions.

If he stays fit all season the board will be very lucky because this boy is the real deal. He still needs help though along with the rest of our thin squad
