What's people's take on this? I don't understand the reluctance of the people on these boards to move with technology and allow it into the game which would sort out once and for all those was it/wasn't it across the line situations. They're talking about having extra people standing on the goal line like we have in GAA over here, but imo when people are involved in decision making, mistakes can and will be made so we're still none the wiser.

I agree with you, if the goal line technology works we should use it.

But other than that I'm against technology and video referees to determine other things such as fouls etc. We don't want massive breaks in play for a video ref to decide whether or not a player should be booked or sent off.

I think I overheard that Bristol City had a clear goal not given today. Not having the goal has cost them 2 extra points in there fight for promotion to the premiership, which could cost them 30m +. Please explain to me why were not using this technology when it's available and it works?

They did. From the sound of it it was as clear as Mendes' goal at Old Trafford, though the commentator on Score may have exaggerated that a bit.

I'm not bothered about it

I like the rusticness of the game. the talking points, the fact it's all down to the ref and his merry men. That IS football.

It's already becoming too clinical.

the idea of having 2 extra linesman doesnt fully get the game rid of mistakes so in that case i would say just keep it as it is and just all fans pray your team dont have an important game lost thanks to human error too often at least

I'm against Hawkeye based on I don't trust it when it's used for tennis, a chip in the ball system should come in if its proven it works.
