A lot of bile has been vomitted in recent days - arguably from both camps - regarding former Head Coach/Manager: Martin Jol. And as a way to sort of bring it all to an end, I have a tale to tell ...

One of my close friends works on the Sales team at the David Lloyd in Chigwell. Now besides being an Essex Wife daytime hang-out, that place has seen many a footballer, especially in our very own Lilywhite colours.

Now, a week ago Tuesday, my mate receives a call from a Dutchman by the name of Robert. He wants to check out the establishment with a view to joining, so my mate offers a 5 day pass/trial thingy. So as he comes to take the details from him he proceeds to tell him that the passes are for himself and his Uncle Martin. Both with the surname Jol.

So lo and behold, our ex-manager strolled through the automatic doors donned in Spurs gear head to toe and greeted my friend with a strong handshake - and knowing the die-hard Spurs man that I am, got me this ...

It's a bit silly, this thread, but it shows: HE STILL CARES!

I still love him! Such a decent bloke. He wasn't perfect as a manager, but what a top bloke.

Good stuff from the big man.

The way they talk about him on some other messageboards (not mentioning any *cough FTL cough* names) you'd think that instead of taking us to our best Premiership finish two years running, he raped all of their mothers, fathers and goldfish.

Top bloke, good manager, brilliant accent.

And that about sums it up for me. Forget what he did or didn't do for us, he helped put us on the map again with two 5th place finishes after years of mediocrity and always did his best for the club. He obviously still loves the fans so we should give him a bit of respect back.

Take care, you fantastic foreign fat fucking fiend xxx

I don't disagree with what people have said, but I do think we should stop bringing him up all the time, and just get behind the new regime.

It was more the point that I have a signed letter from Martin Jol for Christmas.

All you have, nic, is a hangover, a phone number from someone called Dave and an empty nut sack, ironically full of regrets.

Ha.

I don't think the debates that have raged have been from 2 camps as such from my personal point of view I think that Ramos has done and is doing a fine job and thus I have no problem with people giving all the praise he deserves. What I can't work out is why there are some that feel the need to have pops at Martin whilst they are praising the new regime?

All of this yes great but lets get behind the new regime is almost as bad. What so you can't both be behind Ramos and still love Martin?

I on the other hand can't understand the need for some to every day bring up Jol, and how wonderful he is.

Why?!
