I on the other hand can't understand the need for some to every day bring up Jol, and how wonderful he is.

Why?!

If we're going to get it right, nic, it's usually that something is brought up along the lines of "Jol wouldn't have done [X]". Not what you are suggesting.

But this thread is not for the "Jol Comparisons Thread" issues - this is just to show that he still bleeds Blue & White - almost to the excesses that we do.

That is all.

I don't think the debates that have raged have been from 2 camps as such from my personal point of view I think that Ramos has done and is doing a fine job and thus I have no problem with people giving all the praise he deserves. What I can't work out is why there are some that feel the need to have pops at Martin whilst they are praising the new regime?

All of this yes great but lets get behind the new regime is almost as bad. What so you can't both be behind Ramos and still love Martin?

I on the other hand can't understand the need for some to every day bring up Jol, and how wonderful he is.

Why?!

Oh God, can open, worms everywhere!

I was really dissapointed to see Martin go but on reflecton the more the time passes the more mistakes and negetivity i can now see. I Hope he gets the great support from fans in his next job as he did at spurs.
Respect

Fantastic, great bit of work by your mate. I wish some on here would just stop with all the negativity towards our former boss. We all know the story and how it unfolded. For me BMJ was the best thing to happen us in years and I've been supporting the Spurs from about 1980. Yes we had our ups and downs with him at the helm but alot more up than downs I would say. I couldn't be bothered to reiterate our league finishes, our failures against the big four, etc etc, its been done and done to death, but what I would like to say is thanks BMJ for putting a smile back on my face and for helping to me believe again that we won't and should not be stuck in mid table obsurity with the odd cup run to look forward to. Thanks BMJ for giving me my Tottenham back, far from perfect (yet) but with a new sense of anticipation of what the next few years will bring (instead of dread). I hope in years to come your reign can be remembered as the time Tottenham started its steady rise to the top again...COYS

Martin isn't ready to move on. I believe thats why he has turned down several jobs. I've never been so disappointed to see a manager to leave Spurs. Top manager, top bloke.

I agree this thread shouldn't degenerate into a BMJ v JR debate.

I believe BMJ tried his best during yet another difficult period of transition and he was good for us for two seasons.

His heart was (and obviously still is) in the right place.

martin jol for once gave us hope of achieving things. For that he has my respect. He turned our club from a joke to a team 45 minutes away from champions league football

However he took as as far as he could and it was time to bring in someone with more experience and better footballing knowledge, We mustn't forget its a two way street. The club took a huge gamble in bringing him to the lane and now because of it he has become a household name

A lot of bile has been vomitted in recent days - arguably from both camps - regarding former Head Coach/Manager: Martin Jol. And as a way to sort of bring it all to an end, I have a tale to tell ...

One of my close friends works on the Sales team at the David Lloyd in Chigwell. Now besides being an Essex Wife daytime hang-out, that place has seen many a footballer, especially in our very own Lilywhite colours.

Now, a week ago Tuesday, my mate receives a call from a Dutchman by the name of Robert. He wants to check out the establishment with a view to joining, so my mate offers a 5 day pass/trial thingy. So as he comes to take the details from him he proceeds to tell him that the passes are for himself and his Uncle Martin. Both with the surname Jol.

So lo and behold, our ex-manager strolled through the automatic doors donned in Spurs gear head to toe and greeted my friend with a strong handshake - and knowing the die-hard Spurs man that I am, got me this ...

It's a bit silly, this thread, but it shows: HE STILL CARES!

I think thats really sad,I hope he does'nt turn into the David Brent of Football.
