So, here we are again on the eve of another season. There's a somewhat familiarity of the nerves and uncertainty that I am feeling towards the impending campaign. Is this feeling unique to Spurs? because as I speak to the what seems like dozens of Liverpool fans I know, whilst I tend to despise conversing with them about football, I can't help but be partially envious of their sheer ignorance and blinded confidence and I'm left thinking, surely it can't just be me? maybe it's the result of years of dissapointment which still out number our more successful times of recent seasons. The "I'd give anything for a left midfielder" argument that seemed to dog my teens has now been replaced with similar cries for a striker. Or am I just refusing to let my excitement boil to the surface instead burying it in a pit of false dawns.

The undeniable fact is, I am excited. I look through our squad and see quality at every turn. Yes Defoe isn't going to set the world on fire but he's no Helder Postiga or Chris Armstrong that I have been subjected to in seasons gone by. The boy's a yid and that is good enough for me. In AVB we have a young manager who is ahead of the curve in terms of where football is moving as a sport, fresh from the nightmare that was Chelsea ready to prove his worth, and lest we not forget some of the managers sacked from the bridge in recent times. Our man is no mug as some would have us believe.

There is a fresh feel about Spurs at the moment and it's not just our new strip. New, exciting prospects in Jan and Gylfi; Young prospects with a point to prove; experienced older heads and for the most part a squad that has had time to jel over several seasons. No, We aren't the finished article. There may be a croatian thorn in our side, soon to be plucked, but I'm still confident of new improvements coming in even after months of spending 23.5 hours a day looking at the ITK forums.

Tomorrow is the start of a new dawn. A tough start in a hostile environment, but win lose or draw I will be singing loud and proud. What I love more then anything about this club is that we fans are as passionate and commited to our side as you will find. Journalists have yet again written us off before a ball has been kicked, so what our boys need more then anything is for us Yids to unite and back our boys the season is long and hard but I for one will be behind them every step of the way!!!

COYS!!!!!!! lets have it!

Personally I would have been happier had 'Arry still been our manager at the start of this new campaign

Sorry but I am not that optimistic, Defoe is certainly not the player I want to see playing in front and we still need a suitable replacement for Modric

With the right players signed and the Modric debacle sorted before the window closes I am quietly confident of top 4 finish. Lets see what happens when we go to the swamp and hopefully take points off the goons.

I point from two games.Hmm.
I will accept a top eight finish this year as long as foundations are being laid for a new era.
New manager that ticks a few boxes is a start. Not all the boxes but then who does.
Quality replacement for Modric is essential.
Looking at Hazard in the opening games I can't believe we were serioulsly trying to sign him but he's the kind of player we need for the step up to permanent membership of the CL.club.
Siggy and Verboten are good but we need a a world class striker now.
Llorente, Damiao, would do as evidence that we are prepared to take a few financial risks to further our cause.
I can wait another season, can you?
Secretly I'm hoping that things will gel more quickly but it's going to be a bumpier ride than usual I' afraid
