I’ve had loads of debates the last week and everyone who I’ve spoken to has said three pens and a ghost backheel really don’t make him a worthy golden boot winner.
Taking my blue tinted glasses off I hate to say it but I do agree, even with the pressure he was under with all of them.
Great for HK but he looked knackered from Colombia onwards, still think if he’d have had a spurs shirt on he’d have had a couple more.

Good job the history books won't show that.

He deserves it for his selflessness and attitude. He has had to sacrifice the best part of his game to help get his country to the semis. He's shown that his mentality is on point.

Anyone who tells me he isn't a worthy winner will be given a look of dismay.

1994 World cup, Oleg Salenko won it with 6 goals. 5 were against cameroon. Didn't even make it out of the group stages. Kane still had to score the penalties.

Plus they were real pressure pens with the opposition arguing with the ref so he had to wait several minutes before he could take them and don’t get me started on them scuffing the penalty spot.
He scored them, and deserves the accolade

If he didn’t deserve it, he wouldn’t have won it by two clear goals. You don’t get extra points for aesthetics, and nobody else came close.

Even if he hadn't scored the fluky goal, he'd still have been golden boot winner.

He stepped up and scored in a pressure cooker situation. Not once but three time's. If a penalty is so easy to score somebody needs to ask Jordan Henderson how the hell he missed his. Harry is fully deserved Golden Boot winner and I'm delighted for him, especially after all the abuse he had to take last season, most of it from Liverpool fans & even players. I hope this shuts them up. Lovren & Salah can feck right off! #COYS

I'm really looking forward to my first visit to New Wembley in August. It will be good to compare it to the old Stadium, a ground I had the pleasure of visiting many times and taking a tour. Hopefully Harry can put his August blues behind him and put on a good show. Much love to my fellow Spurs fans here ❤

It took me 5 attempts to pass my GCSE English language LOL
They even allowed me into third level education withour it. I thought it would have been "he's" rather than "he" especially when it's being sung ❤

If he wasn’t getting fouled so much while trying to score from open play ye wouldn’t have to take so many penalties. And he still picked himself up and stuck it in the onion bag. Congrats Harry, very well deserved.

I guarantee that if Jordan Henderson had been Captain and taken the penalties there would be a completely different opinion on him winning the Golden Boot. Saying that he would have had to put them away first and going by his spot kick against Columbia I'd have been amazed if one hit the back of the net. Kane has been treated appallingly by the press, other professional players and worst of all his own Football Association. It's just a pity Harry is not Irish and playing for the Republic of Ireland. He would be a God over here. He fully deserved the Golden Boot, I'm just not sure the English FA deserve him #COYS❤

It’s a factual award there’s no opinion involved. He scored the most goals and won the golden boot. Deserved or not deserved doesn’t even enter the argument. It’s like saying a cricketer didn’t deserve a century cause he had a few lucky shots, it’s irrelevant he still got 100 runs however he got them.

Imagine how many he'd have scored if he wasn't being hampered by bizzare tactics, playing as an attacking midfielder, and forced to feed lesser players instead of being his usual selfish self and taking more shots.

There’s so many salty bastards on instagram on all posts about him winning this saying he doesn’t deserve it. Normally it wouldn’t piss me off but I know for a fact if he played for their shitty clubs (Arsenal, Chelsea, etc. the usual suspects) they would not be posting the things they are. Hypocritical ****s.

Some even have the audacity to say he’s not world class... doesn’t getting golden boot in the WORLD CUP mean you’re WORLD CLASS by definition (not to mention multiple golden boots in arguably the worlds toughest league)? Fucking idiots. They got nothing to say when he’s banging them in in a more aesthetically pleasing way, the only time they can say something is when he’s banging them in luckily; you can’t make it up ?

I have always found people judge strikers in weird ways.

The skillet for a striker is less about their all round game and more about their contribution.

Shearer, Linekar and Owen didn’t have great all round games but their goal threats were constant and very real, Owen slightly less so.

Kane hits 20 plus league goals a season and scores at international level.

For a striker that makes him world class.
