Tottenham forward Son Heung-min feels ashamed by the “unacceptable” 2-1 defeat to Malaysia, but believes his South Korean team will still qualify for the last-16 stage from Group E in the Asian Games.

So we release him and he doesn’t play the first group game and only comes on after 57 mins in the second?

Was he injured? Did we stipulate it? What’s the point of missing club games for possible military exemption if you’re not going to actually try and win it with your best players?

At this rate he’ll be back for next game.

I think they assumed he wouldn't be needed to win the first two games and didn't want him to tire before he was required later in the tournament, especially given the huge part he played in their World Cup squad.

I thought he was always going to miss the first game after we agreed to let him go after our first game.

They probably didn't think they needed him for the second game, and not sure how long he had been with the team before the game.

Stupid that they rested so many players, put needless pressure on the rest of their tournament.
