for me it would be a dream beyond dreams for Hod to return and lead us to glory again as he did as a player - but sadly I just don't think he's up to it

I havn't lost my faith on Ramos yet but if the situation become worse, Hoddle would be my first choice. I'm sure he will get the best out of our players and they will love to work under his leadership.

there are doubt here about his abilities because our the 2nd half of his 2nd season, but it's look like people forget he sold Ferdinand & Reborov in jan. and promised funds to sign new striker but he didn't ended with short of strikers. We still finished 9th and 10th best two positions in 5 seasons before his arrival with almost winning League cup. Let alone he didn't get the players he wanted and working under Pleat. I followed him to read what he is doing for Wolves when he appointed as manager in dec. 2004 for six months deal, they were 17th in relegation battle, he lead them to be unbeatable side and lost only one game from 25 remaining matches, I remember Wolves fans were very hopeful to see him signing new contract and he did. After another 3 games without defeat in new season, he made them without defeat for 23 games for the first time for Wolves since 1934 or 1943 i can't remember. Most opponents chairmen and managers said that Wolves are the best football side in the championship and even managing director Jez Moxey agreed with this. They were ok until christmas to make playoff spot and his only mistake signing Poland international to convert chances to goals, this one really failed despite his good record in Spain, even the player himself thought he let Glenn down, when they finished 7th, the fans turned against him because they were boowing the team too much and blaming fans for bad results at home game, even McCarethy who did good job in his 1st season, they called for his head very quickly in 2nd season, he saved his job later but i read in BBC this week he is unhappy with some of 'boowing boys'.

until now, I trust Ramos, But if he left, Hoddle up for it to save us and I'm confident about this while there are better resources and players now, let alone that he is more experienced and he said that he learnt a lot from his mistakes in an interview last year.

I dont think we should go back.

I have no doubt that Hoddle is a good manager, but we shouldnt appoint him again.

And it would make us look EXACTLY like Newcastle, which is something I dont think I could stomach.

No idea who I would want though. Probably an Englishman though. At least someone who spoke English, the last 2 coaches we have appointed who havent been able to speak English (Santini and the current moron) have been total failures

For me, it's all about Sven!

Keeping to the thread, though, isn't Hoddle the 3rd best England manager? Not sure if I've got that one right or not

It looks like we will actually need a coach for our Championship side in 2009. Hoddle might like to start low and go from thereEek

How about Ardilles? Now he would fit Modric, Bentley,Lennon, Hudd, Gio, Taaraabt and Jenas into an orgy of attack minded play.

think we should sign ronaldo. He may not be near his best but i think he would score goals.

Which we are in need of, plus an experienced striker would in invaluable.

ah mate the romantic in me thinks that would be amazing.

but in reality we'd have my two favourite footballers of their generation in the same team... both incapable of playing football becasue of thier knees.

It would break my heart even more to see us relegated, witness the final fall of the King and then see the husk of the best striker the world has ever seen struggle to get into a XXL spurs home kit and run about for 5 mins as a sub in his one and only appearence in a defeat most probably against he scum, all in one season.
