Yes, I still have my "We nearly signed Rivaldo" T-shirt somewhere, got it from F365.
But our standards haven't dropped of late as we've nearly signed: Willian, Joao Mouthinho, David Villa, LVG, Bernard, Benteke and Brendan Rodgers.

I'm sure i read previously that it was Pleat who scuppered these deals as either he did not rate the players and said they were not gonna be top quality.
