Just been announced on BBC. Seems like a smart choice to me, plenty of experience.

This years relegation fight could turn out to be a classic.

A much better choice than John Collins would have been but he'll still have a very tough job to keep them up.

If we assume Derby are down then the battle is between Sunderland, Wigan, Fulham, Boro and Birmingham for the other two spots.

I think Wigan and Birmingham will ultimately be good enough to stay up and Sunderland will struggle so it's Fulham v Boro for the other spot.

I don't think Derby are down yet, they still have a good chance of avoiding the drop. That team has changed under Paul Jewell and I doubt Jewell joined that club without the promise of cash come jan.

I think it will be Sunderland, Fulham and Boro going down.

Jewell won't save Derby. He'll improve them, and they'll give it a good run, but he won't save them.
Sunderland also look very weak, and it'll be interesting to see if Wigan and Birmingham can sustain some form, they're both playing well atm.
Hodgson is undoubtedly a good coach (apart from the Blackburn shambles, Kevin Davies for £7mill wtf?), and I think he'll keep Fulham up.
Bye bye Boro? Wouldn't be surprised, they have some good players but just can't seem to get it right apart from against the top 4 at home.

Derby, Sunderland and Boro for me.
