Emanuel Villa looks like being Paul Jewell`s first signing for the Rams, the Argentinean striker will complete a £2 million move to Pride Park this week and Jewell is also keen on bringing the controversial Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly to the club from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26-year-old who has not figured for Spurs this term, but was a regular at White Hart Lane last season. But his future was left in doubt after he pulled off his shirt and threw it to the ground after being substituted during a match against Blackburn in May. The Egyptian international apologised to his team mates at the time but has not played for Tottenham since.

He was in the news again later in the season when a £3m move to Birmingham City fell through when Ghaly had objections to their training methods, and Birmingham announced they would not be completing the deal.

A stumbling block to the move could be Ghaly`s participation in the African Cup of Nations later this month with Egypt, meaning the midfielder would be away for a month of football. He certainly comes with some baggage but is a quality player.

He has been capped 21 times by Egypt, and has been training with his old club Al Ahly to maintain his fitness ahead of African Cup of Nations.

How can we get rid of this legend! This just makes me want to throw my shirt in disgust.

Question, does Jewell expect players to run in practice?

lets be honest, the guy had potential that was never used. But throwing down the shirt like that, I wouldnt just drive him to birmingham I would rap him up in wool and build a pyramid ontop of him.

"He comes with baggage"???

Poor sod. The bloke has been ripped apart by our lot and all he wanted to do was play football. He took his shirt off - so what? Some would put that down to pure frustration, not hatred of our club.

I hope he gets his head down, finds a club that will acknowledge his undoubted skills by playing him regularly, and gets this press induced monkey off his back.

I chucked my school shirt on the pitch once after getting subbed, which was less dramatic than I'd hoped, but it wasn't because I hated my team or the school, just the seeming outrage of being taken off (mainly for taking pops at the ref). What seemed intolerable to Ghaly probably seemed 5 minutes later like a minor hiccup that he couldn't believe acting like that over. One moment of petulance doesn't make him a baggage laden nutter.

For me I don't like him because of the things he's said about us since the incident. I didn't really give a shit about the shirt throwing.

I hope this is true, but unfortunately his reputation in England isn't best possible anymore

He'd actually be quite good for them, they have very little 'imagination' in the middle of the park.
They're not leaking as many goals too either.
