You can even buy Spurs kits and other stuff at the supporter store at Norways home ground, Ullevål. They actually have kits for most of the big premier league teams plus Real and Barca in addition to Norway kits.

Most of my friends are actually far more interested in premier league than Norwegian football. I think Celtic and to some extent Rangers also have relatively big supporter groups here - I know a couple of families where they religiously follow Celtic (heh) even now the Scottish league is shit.

Ok, it's from 2007 and I guess they got a boom / pr-stunt from that tv comedy show. Probably that's why they got so many members in a hurry.
I guess it was a one season hype because I can't find anything about them now. They aren't even registered in the "British supporter union" in Norway which all the other supporter clubs are :)

I taught English in South Korea for a couple of years pre-Son. A lot of the teenagers were football mad and many had heard of Spurs but I don't think any were fans - most of them supported either Madrid, Barca, Bayern, City, United or Chelsea with the odd Swansea or Leverkusen fan due to Ki and Son. When I mentioned Spurs in class they'd shout GARETH BALE-UH!!!! or MODRIC-UH!! but that's about as far as it went, barring them relentlessly mocking me the morning after a 5-0 loss to Man City or, at worst, the 3-0 loss to West Ham.

2 days after I left the country we signed Son and now every single Spurs game is on TV and about 90% of my old students are fans. Great timing, Levy.

Every now and then I get a message from one of them saying something like "Teacher! Harry Kane is very good young man!"
In South Korea atm, we're very much the trendy team for people to follow (in the same way as Dortmund were in Europe a couple of seasons ago). It's also worth noting that Lamela is the pantomime villain of the current Spurs team, with many Koreans disliking him due to him often being the player who replaces Son during games

Probably has something to do with that game against Man City last year when we beat them 2-0, but could have gone three up. Lamela refused to give the ball to Son to take the penalty (Kane was out injured) and insisted on taking it himself. Of course he then missed!

I am from Kazakhstan. Like in many other countries, majority of the locals support clubs which had success in recent years - MU, Chelsea, Arsenal in England, Real/Barca in Spain, Juve/Milan in Italy etc. Hopefully our fan base will grow due to our CL and League performance. Also, due to the bad knowledge of english language the fans here watch football on russian channels and are impacted by opinon of their incompetent pundits, which i think doesn't help to attract new fans.

jagshemash!
