Sorry just wanted to sing his praises as he really brought class into our squad when he came on tonight. Keane and berbatov will latch onto the sort of balls he puts through the middle all day!!

All the hudd doubters need to watch him closely as he has so much to his game and makes zokora to look like a 10 year old with 1 leg

He looked good tonight, but we all knew he had the passing it's his fitness we need to worry about.

Seems like he really wants it though, COYS

Thought Zokora did well again as a spare CB.

I agree but he is a central midfielder... Also the two goals were def stoppable from his point of view. shit positioning and an awful half in his (natural ) position... for the fist goal he jus had to run forward and for the second he was hiding on the other side of the pitch....

Ramos made him the spare man second half so we could push forward more. he made a few good interceptions and his positioning improved but he should not be allowed to play central midfield..... I hope ramos realises he may make a good utility player but should not be playing first team every game...

I wonder if there is a clause in his contract for him to play every match no matter what.... If there isnt then i dont know whats going on...

Yup. He really showed Ramos what we've been missing recently. Should definitely be making the bench every match, at least.

Zokora was pretty dire in the first half, far, far better in the second. Give him that limited role he's very good. Which begs the question, unless he's in a three-man midfield or the emergency 3-5-2 Juande adopted tonight, where does he fit in?

To be fair, you could argue the same for the Hudd.

Zokora did well yet again as an actual defensive midfielder, something he was touted as when he came here but MJ never used him as.

But MJ favoured a 4-4-2, as does Ramos. And MJ did use him in that role when we played a diamond, and also when he made the tactical switch to 4-5-1 against Chelsea. Juande is going to have the same problem accommodating him in his preferred formation.

Jol used him as a DM in every single game. Tonight he played well as a spare CB.

Guys can we keep this on topic.

If you want to discuss the merits of playing Zokora in a CB role either in a 2 or 3 centre backs setup please start a new thread.
