This is what I love about football - you never find a group of fans that all agree on everything with the team they support.

For the record I think Hudd has a great future - yes, he does need to add some spice and zip into his play, but his composure on the ball and range of passing is something that we are often sorely lacking. He is still young and will improve, I am sure of it. But if we were to sell him, as some on here have suggested, I am certain in 2-3 years time we'd be saying what a huge mistake we'd made by being impatient.

Touch and vision. Those words can aptly describle one of our greatest ever players in Hoddle. Of course Hudd is not that player but if we value someone with such attributes it is up to the coach / manager to accomodate him.

I've just watched it again and I'm pretty sure that the pass Berbatov scored from was meant for Bent. I credited Huddlestone with it last night in ratings but having watched it several times I'm pretty sure it was aimed at Bent. The lad still played pretty well though.

Not sure, but surely the point is that one of them got on the end of it and scored, and it was pretty much the first decent through ball we'd played all night.

I agree totally,we scored and thats all that matters but a few guys were going a little over the top about Huddlestone(who I stated played decently in the second half)and when I pointed out that the pass was intended for Bent,I was called a tosser.
Just trying to counter-balance their over-enthusiasm.

Huddlestone is average, yes he can make some good balls and has got a good shot on him, but he is to slow, needs to much time on the ball, and not as experienced. zokora is a much better player, you watch him, he dont stop running around all game, putting in his foot, going on some great runs and people who say Zokora cant pass are clueless. Yes Zokora cant score (he must be the worst shooter i have ever seen) but give the man some credit.

Sorry just wanted to sing his praises as he really brought class into our squad when he came on tonight. Keane and berbatov will latch onto the sort of balls he puts through the middle all day!!

All the hudd doubters need to watch him closely as he has so much to his game and makes zokora to look like a 10 year old with 1 leg

he could be class if he just moved a bit more off the ball. sorry, he could be THE best player in england, if he just worked harder when he doesn't have the ball. when he came on against Aalborg there were a couple of times when he could've got himself into better positions to receive the ball, but he didn't.

look out for boateng, he is always looking to get on the ball

I didn't mean just YOU dude and I'm sorry if I've hurt your feelings lol!

Some 'fans' are soooo frustrating at times though.. Huddlestone is 20. If he was breaking through in Spain or Italy, big things would be predicted of him due to his undoubted Technical ability, really he'll still be learning for the next 4-5 years as any player would.. But the more fickle yids on here predict Championship football for the guy, just because he doesn't RUN RUN RUN or CRUNCH every player he crosses paths with..

Sometimes I think a lot of our fans would prefer Robbie Savage in our midfield, which is just MADNESS. :bang:

:stupid: this is the most unbelieveable comment I have ever heard...

All zokora does is run around jumping into tackles when he could stay on his feet, his positioning is awful as has been shown for goals in the midweek game and at the weekend, his passing is ok but he never goes for a killer ball through the middle which is the kind of ball that gets goals (A la Hudd midweek and at the weekend)

If he was doing the 100 meter sprint then I reckon you could call him a decent athlete but he isnt and in the premiership you cannot afford to have a player that makes so many mistakes and clearly is not a good footballer...

Watch the West Ham first half of him trying to play central midfield and causing everyone around him to be under masses of pressure cos of crap decisions and positioning. He is appauling and the quicker everyone realises it the quicker we will get rid of him..

We can play the Hudd when we havethe ability to dominate the opposition in possession and if they can't pressue us.

Huddlestone is class but I not think he can play in a 2 man central midfield.

I really hope we get shot of Robinson and sort out the central defence this Jan, we could still finish the season off on a high.

Why is it that no one noticed robinsons problems in goal when ledley and Carrick were playing... Cos long shots generally didnt come in the way they are now. They were blocked before they got to the edge of our box. Zokora doesnt know how to do this, neither do dawson or kaboul... This is a major issue.... Robinson would look good again if we had a sturdy central defencder and holding midfielder... Hudd and King for the win..

Watching Hudd on Sunday it seemed that when the ball was cleared out of their area it was invariably him that picked it up and when someone needed a player to pass to it was Hudd that was available, now I know that he isn't a scurrying little player but maybe he can just read it and sees where he should be and goes there without running around in circles.
Never mistake activity for action.

Worth watching him closely this week to see if this is right.

Huddlestone is very very decent in a 5 man midfield. In a 4 man midfield, the ball is passed around him so easily.

His distribution is his and sometimes our biggest asset - so why not allow him the time and space to release the ball? In a 4, he doesnt get that time and is often snubbed out.

We seem to play better when Zokora and Hudd are on the field (2nd half of our last 2 games). So how about this?

------------------Zokora------------------
----------Jenas----------Hudd------------
--Lennon------------------------Keane---
----------------Berba/Bent----------------

451/433

Lennon and Keane can be given semi free-roles to roam out wide and into the middle depending where the ball is.

Swap Malbranque for Keane and you have a deal.

Where are you getting this information from because its a load of rubbish. He played fine in a 4 man midfield from what I saw midweek against Aalborg and he played very well in a 4 man midfield against West Ham...

Huddlestone is decent full stop, brings something totally different to the team, and allows us to play a completely different type of football in an instance either by bringing him on or bringin him off. He is young, and i wouldnt not be letting him go anywhere.

As for those who call him fat etc, - he is only 79 kg - for the size of him this can hardly be considered fat, or over weight.
