I see the problem mate but u said he didnt have talent, and he`s got that for sure! We should use him at home games against "easier" oppositions and in europe and try develope him into a more mobile midfielder in the future..

walworthyid you have to remember that Hudd is still a young player (20) and has a lot to learn, and BTW the reason Hudd was playing today was because he forced himself into Ramos's plans, If you asked me a month ago I would of told you he was leaving, but no the Hudd showed spirit, he changed a lot of his fat into muscle, and now he looks a lot better player then ever before. And I would not be surprised to see in a couple of years are team being based around the Hudd.

Like I said before in you will eventually see why hudd is such a great player!

If the abuse is going to continue I would be more than happy to lock this thread and walk into the sunset laughing my cods off.

He wasn't very good tonight.

But neither was anyone else.

I'm still a believer..

but A&C I think you may find that this abuse is quite light mannered, not too different to what you say to everybody around you.

The Hudd certainly has potential, but I hope he realises that potential somewhere else, I'll be very surprised if Ramos sees him as a first eleven player for us at the start of next season, once he has had two transfer windows to bring in the quality of midfielder we currently don't have.

I think he would only do worse elsewhere, he is a spurs type player (like Hoddle). I would rather his potential being fulfilled here at the lane

Tonight was not his best game, he was poor in the 2nd half and joey55 is right a heavy pitch does not suit his slow game.

I am a fan of Hudd, but like a few people I am starting to lose patience. He is at the age when he needs start controlling the tempo of games and directing the play. He should start by watching Tugay play for a Blackburn, not the most mobile player in the world but hugely affective controlling the midfield.

Saying all that I don't think he fits into Ramos style of play so expect him to leave the club next summer

Put the big stick down and go back to bed. Nobody is insulted, it is all good natured, why do you feel the need to get involved?

I have started a debate, the fact that many of the responses have been silly, makes my argument all the stronger.

Let's keep this site the great site that it has always been, a place where people can speak their minds, a community. This isn't communist Russia.

its only silly 'cos no one is taking it seriously, for it is your loss if you can't see how great Hudd is!

That is the silliest comment yet:rofl::rofl:

You think that Huddlestone is a great player? Do you REALLY believe that, or are you just saying that to look clever in this thread?

If he was so great why does he regularly play very poorly? Why does he regularly get dropped by 2 managers?

I am not saying he doesn't have talent, what I am saying is that he doesn't show it. He needs something that he can't make for himself, time.

Paul Scholes has been one of the best midfield players in the world for about 12 years now, since he was younger than Hudd, he makes time for himself. As do many players who aim to be creative influences.

I would love nothing more than for Hudds to make me eat my words, my password for this site has his name in it, I have nothing against him other than he is not good enough, currently, to play for the team that I love.

I remember a time when you could have an interesting discussion in spurs chat.... How times change.

I would be intrigued to know if Walworthspur saw any of the Brum game as then he would clearly have seen what the Hudd is capable of.

Jol (allegedly) said the Hudd was two years away from a regular first-team place. Yes, he was non-existent tonight after half-time, and not too great in the first half. But who else would have found that pass for Keano on Sunday?

But in the end we're all pissed off about the way this season has gone and are pinning blame here there and everywhere as a result. Huddlestone hasn't become Beckenbauer, or even Tugay. So what? Jenas hasn't become Gerrard, Zokora hasn't become Carrick or Davids (or both). Christ, Zokora is one of my least favourite players (or, to put it more accurately, the player that frustrates me most now Ghaly's gone); suddenly, I find myself defending him against totally ludicrous 'criticisms'.

Maybe we should all just chill, shelve the unrealistic expectations, and let Ramos, Gus and the players sort things out.

When prompted, I've always said Tom Hundredstone is a talented player and I still do, in a way. He's a good footballer but he's just too damn fat/big. I strongly believe if he lost two stone he would be a much better player for it. Frankly I'm amazed he's made it this far in the Premier League being as big and immobile as he is. Still think he could do a half decent job but at his size, certainly not in a 442 formation, he simply hasn't got the movement or pace required to play in that system.

Its just my opinion but if he doesn't lose some weight, I fear he'll never fulfill his potential.

he's only 20 and considering most players get their debuts (for a PL team) at 21/22 he is "great" for a 20 year old relatively speaking, and considering that I judge everything on a relative scale, for me this suggests that he is a "great" player. He also has a huge amount of potential, he has the potential of being a player who makes space for himself. This to me is a great player (Great player= Potential+Player ability)

Yes I did, as I said I have missed about 5 games in 3 seasons. I have no doubt that he has attributes and talents, I am questioning his ability to use them.

Joey55 pointed out that it was worth having players work harder to cover for Huddlestone because he has 7 assists in 11 games, how many of those games have we won? I am obviously not saying that it was Hudds fault that we lost but what I am saying is that having Hudd in the team seriously weakens us. This is particularly the case when we don't have the ball, we are effectively playing with 10 men because Tom can't get around the field and he doesn't have the courage or the skills to take the pressure off of us by holding the ball and controlling the tempo.
