A lot of the article is contradictory and seems to have been cobbled together for a fishing expedition.

The Club that just keeps on giving. The player exile list get's longer.

We punch above our weight. You're looking at this from the wrong angle.

We can't expect to hold onto world class players. We're not even top 5 in a league that has no CL QF representation. We are not, as it stands, a big player by any stretch.

By making that statement you're effectively criticising the club for signing players such as Lloris in the first place.

Spur4life, post: 4567147, member: 23012"]Im not saying vorm is crap i just think too replace hugo in goal you need someone in his league. The only name i can think that is world class is cech at chelsea If in the summer.Making someone skipper makes them feel good that the manager and the owner think highly important him.Being a skipper was a mark of respect back in the days i dont known how players feel now
Agree he'd be a huge (hugo) loss and Cech is a good shout.
As for the modern player imo its all mercenary me me me which is probably not helped by the large foreign contingent. Not just foreigners, money talks but I mean , would your heart be tied to a club in Serie A or Ligue1?
It cant mean as much, it just can't.
Ashley Cole, Torres, RVP, Owen, Tevez, to name a few and as for Sterling... Even Lampard sees no problem putting on a City shirt.
Look at Kane celebrating the winner against Arsenal. Thats the difference.
Thats why its so pleasing to see homegrown players for me. You feel they do actually give a shit.
I don't blame them, I'd be the same but it does suck.

Question is, perhaps, does this make Hugo a good shot stopper, but fecking awful at communicating with his defenders?

Are the two events independent? I don't recall Big Brad or The Octopus having as many issues with the defence (yes, King was there, but so was Kaboul?)
Its a very good question and one Ive raised before.
Remember Kabul sitting 5yds in Man Citys half with Aguero BEHIND him. Big ball over the top and Lloris made a great one on one save. But if you're playing in goal up the fkin park and your deepest defender is sitting in the oppositions half with a bloody striker behind him, do you not say something along the lines of 'Oi dick head ffs get goal side', and thats up the bloody park not against one of the best strikers in the world.
Granted Kabul was a complete tit for that but it did make me ask questions.
Same when a striker is standing on pen spot unmarked and our cbs are 10M apart. Someone has to speak up.
Nobody is.

It's time for Loris and Eriksen to move on .

They've been good servants of the club .

Who are we going to sign to be the new playmaker ?

Financial wise, we can't compete with the likes of Chelsea, Man U, Citeh, and one club I will not name. We all hope Poch can be a miracle worker and get us to the top 4, but if you are Lloris, will you stick around and hope?

Anyone know if this is true (20%)

Lloris signed for Tottenham on 31 August 2012 for €10 million and €5 million variable. Lyon also receives 20% of Lloris's future transfer profit.[51][52] He

We lost players even when we were top four!

As good a keeper as he is he is not irreplaceable.
Vorm has become a good backup.
Calm, catches well, good positioning and distribution.
One bad error and not being Hugo doesn't make him shit.
Has he ever played behind the same back four twice running.
Like the boy. We could do a lot worse.
Adieu mon frere and bon chance

He's damned if he stays and damned if he goes. If he stays he'll be compared with Le Tissier who was judged to have no ambition rather than showing loyalty. If he goes there'll be those who say he is motivated by money or shows no loyalty.

Personally I think we should let him go if that's what he wants, he's not getting CL football with us any time soon. I'd rather he left on amicable terms than became disillioned with his time at the club

i don't believe all this paper talk but i really couldn't blame him if he does go, he deserves to be playing in a top CL side. I fully believe he has bought in to the 'project' at spurs and is enjoying playing under poch. It's just a shame he's had such a poor defence in front of him. although, he must slightly enjoy it, it gives him the opportunity to showcase his skills to everyone.

Article is a load of rubbish because he would never move to Manchester. His wife likes big city living and would not want to leave London unless it is for the likes of Paris, Madrid or Barcelona. The papers in this country are obsessed with writing transfer stories that is why within a week of the transfer window closing their are already transfer rumour stories.

That may be true but the fact is that he won't be playing for Tottenham next season, where he goes is irrelevant to us.

Shock,horror and surprise.

Unfortunately, despite all the info of how Lloris is happy and settled and different to other players (yeah like Modric and Bale were) he will have the same ambitions as any other top level footballer.

He will only hang around for so long and I've been worrying for a while that De Gea leaving will see him go to Old Trafford.

The article might be just reading between the lines, but it's all a perfectly realistic interpretation of the situation to me.
