No Suprise and do you blame him? We have a bald bastard of a chairman who never backs the manager and has Signed some pathetic players this season instead of backing Poch with his own suggestions. All of our signings have been utter dog shit and have not improved us one bit. The signings of fazio, Stambouli, Davies and Vorm then we wonder why we struggle to break the top 4? Last chance saloon for the bald genius that is levy. Back poch or fuck off

On the one hand it will be sad to see a top quality player leave.
On the other, to get the best from him forces the high defensive line and all the boring, narrow, congested play that goes with it.
If Lloris leaving meant we could have defensive FBs, a winger with 2 strikers and finally bury AVB's playbook, then that might not be an entirely bad outcome.

I'm not sure I'd agree with this apart from the observation that Levy is bald.
Stambouli, Davies and Vorm are young players and have great futures in my opinion. Fazio has only been here since January and we all know that it can take some time to settle and when he does I think he'll be a formidable central defender.

Defenders are the same as other field players . meaning, better the ability, better the understanding with each other, and in their situation, the goalkeeper.

I'm well aware of the definition of the word fact. I used the word for dramatic effect.

If 'for dramatic effect' means 'in error', then yes. It isn't a fact, it's believable yet unsubstantiated speculation.

Saying something that isn't true doesn't add drama. I think you need to check out what 'dramatic effect' means too

Sorry mate but I don't agree. These ain't the quality of players we should of for if we wanted to challenge top 4. Poch wanted Schneiderlin but got Stambouli. Arsenal bought Sanchez whilst we buy cheap rubbish alternatives then wonder why we don't compete? It's a constant cycle of buying crap, selling our best players and then sacking the manager then repeat

Fair enough but maybe we should leave the drama to the tabloids because any team wanting to take Lloris will more than likely be looking at stumping up a record fee for a goalie. There aren't many clubs who could afford around £35m for a keeper so maybe they'll wait for his contract to run down another year?

It's way too early to be talking like its a done deal either way.

Well, drama can relate to things that are total fiction, have an element o truth or are indeed factual. Don't patronise me in the use of the English language.

I'm not patronising you. Patronising means to pretend to be kind when you're actually taking the piss out of someone. But I'm not pretending to be kind, I'm simply pointing out that that isn't what "dramatic effect" means. It's also not what "fact" means. Those are just, well, facts. Neutral-ass facts.

OK, not patronising, being condescending.

Anyway you're clogging up the thread with pedantic nonsense.

Madrid have been linked with a few keepers recently so could be another case of a Spurs - Madrid transfer as part of our "partnership" with them. £25m wouldn't be a bad price for Lloris but if he is leaving it would be better to do it early and quickly.

If he goes good luck to him. He should be playing in the Champions League.

The article doesn't seem to tie up with comments Lloris himself made a while ago.

I think this is typical media strategy to derail certain clubs.

WE NEED to be playing in the Champions League if we want to hold on to these sort of players and attract others of his calibre ...and the only hope we have of ever doing that again is to finish 4th (anger rising) ...and the only way we'll ever achieve that is by not playing our first team in that cnuty Europa League (frustration boiling over).

Think I need a lie down...

Seems a rather speculative report with no actual quotes. That said I could well imagine that this could be the situation with Lloris.
If he wants to move that's fine. But it won't be cheap.

Poch wanted Schneiderlin but Southampton refused to sell - just the same as we did with Modric and Bale first time round. He'll leave in the summer.

By all accounts, Poch wanted the players he got.

The point of this season wasn't to challenge for top 4, it's just a bonus we're up there. It's a season of introducing a philosophy, building the scounting team and assessing the squad
